Tab's chicken obsession :

We have some roos that need new homes.

Roo #1 is I believe a brown red americauna. I'm not sure because the technicalities of this breed confuse me. ETA(turns out he is an EE) Born spring 2010. We got him from Rudy Brouilette. We thought he was a she we were wrong. We don't need another roo.

Roo #2 is a barred rock mutt. Mother barred rock mutt in with a barred rock roo and leghorn roo. Born June 2010.

Roo #3 is a cuckoo maran blue americauna cross. Born halloween week 2010. Father cuckoo maran and mother blue americauna. The cuckoo flock where I got this egg didn't lay very dark eggs. I think that if he was bred back to marans the offspring would lay nice olive color eggs. He is going to be a pretty boy when he is fully grown with his neck and saddle feathers being striped like the cuckoo maran.

Tab, this is what a brown red looks like. I took the photo off of the Ameraucana photos site.
The call it brown-red, but in acutally, its black & red color. The black & red colors, are not mixed up, they are solid and just like in the pictures. Hope this helps you get an idea of the color.

Tab's chicken obsession :

Thanks Sue. How did everything turn out?

I didn't lose any chicks,,don't know about the eggs yet, they are due to hatch sunday, but will probably be delayed, if they hatch due to the cold.

Everyone seems to think they will be ok. I should re-think my hatching in January, although I've had the power go out in July as well, so I guess we never know...

That's good to hear. I'm glad that you didn't lose any birds. Your granddaughter is doing well too? I've been lucky that neither of my girls have had to go through that.

Yes, she is fine This is her 2nd set of tubes. She gets ear infections every 3 weeks with out them. She is petite, and her ear canals are narrow. We hope this is the last time she will need them.
THanks for asking.

I'm not sure which event you are referring to?

I've been knocked down by a head cold, so am hoping to get back to normal in a day or so. So if you are talking about the "processing" might have to put it off until next week. I'm wondering if you might come over here & take a look at what I've got to see if its possible to do here.

The 4H meeting is on as far as I've heard. Its on Sunday At 4:00pm at Muggsmagee's house.

Fingerlakes Feather Club meeting on Saturday at 1PM at Della Davis house.
