Grammachick---yes it is paper towels. I usually use them the first couple of weeks or so under the chicks so they get used to eating food from their feeder and dont ingest shavings. By the time they are ready for shavings, I find that I dont have any problems with them eating them. Cleanup is easy as I just fold up the soiled towels and put down fresh.
Rancher--thats a good thing to know as I will be posting more pics as they grow older! You wont need them for my other chicks, as they are rir;s. Waiting on them to hatch out next.
Beautiful day today and I have to waste it inside at work. Today is Hanes last day on earth. He will be going to camp crock pot. He and Olaf had it out a couple of weeks ago and he is definately the outcast in the terrorist coop. Its creating problems in there now as he just hides, breaks eggs and tries to get some of the girls to come to him. I feel bad for him but it is what it is. Hopefully things will settle when he is gone.
Loving the warmup in the weather. Hope it continues so I can clean out the big coop. Thats going to be a huge job. Also looking forward to giving my silkies a spa day. They alway look top notch all washed and blown out and nails done. (sorry Rancher!) Dh finds it rediculous and makes fun of me but I dont care. I have done it to my big divas but they arent exactly thrilled, except for Elanor. She likes being soaked and washed and pampered. She is my glw who has bumblefoot reoccurance. She knows she gets spoiled when I bring her in for a good soak and wash!
Off to the pharm for another fun filled day. Enjoy the sun everyone!
