Good Morning, Everyone!!!
So far we only have about 3 inches of snow here.....but I guess they're predicting 12-18. We dodged the last storm...so I guess we can't complain too much. Although it's pretty to look at I can definitely do without the shovelling part of it.
Hey, TattooQ27!!! What breed/breeds of ducklings do you have arriving in March??!! I wish you much luck with the 24 eggs in your bator........you should definitely have very beautiful babies from the mix you have!!! Pictures, pictures, pictures.....hint, hint(smile)!!!! I'm glad all is going so well for you!!!
Time to water and feed the feathered friends......so I must go for now. So until later........

Good morning,

I have a snow day, the University is closed. I don't think we have more than 3 or 4 inches, but it suppose to snow until Thur morning. Maybe I will have another snow day. And Friday and Monday are holidays. A nice long weekend.

Yeah its supposed to get worse here later today. The kids are happy for a snow day lol. My husband had to go into work today, so I hope he gets home alright.

Hi to all my fellow New York chicken lovers! I'm upstate about 30 min east of Rochester in Wayne County. Just found this link and thought I'd like to join. I love BYC. I'm fairly new to chickens. I adopted a mama bantan and 3 chicks in July, then 3 golden comet pullets in the beginning of November. Love them all to death. I can't wait for Spring to get here so I can add to my flock. Problem is I'm not sure the best way to do that. I have 2 roos and definately don't want any more because I'd never have the heart to get rid of them. I'm nervous about mail order... know I can get certian breeds at Country Max in April. Does anyone out there have anything to say about ordering chicks from a feed store? Also, they don't have many specialty breeds... I'd love a few silkies and Easter Eggers. Where can I find these? Would love to talk to anyone with advice or just swap chicken stories. For instance, my Mother now talks about my chickens to her friends more than she does about her grandchildren. They always want to know the latest goings on with Gertrude, Lola, BooBoo, Mr. Opal, Lily, Angi, and Gabriella. My Mom gets more mileage out of the story of me taking a rooster to the vet with a suspected broken leg and ending up giving him cortisone shots to cure his sciatica. Then when I finished building my coop (ok, my neighbor finished it. God bless him!) and put in a ramp she thought it was a handicap ramp specifically for the roo. I'm sure there's people like me out there who understand... right?
