NY chicken lover!!!!

So now I'm stumped. Is it OK to give higher protein to those that do NOT need it? I have both hybrids and heritage breeds.
What do others feed with mixed flocks?
Yes, the choice is yours. I personally switch to lower layer pellets since they are going out to range in the summer months. As always there are varying op's so do what you think is best for you.

Mine seem to do okay. I have both too and mixed in the flocks. Though I only have EE's and heritage. EE's mix with other breeds fairly easy.

Agway website has a coupon for $5 off a bag! Sometimes my printer will let me print 2-3 coupons at a time!

I used to get Purina but not lately. They're the most expensive and I think have decided not to invest much effort in animal feeds. Heck their $2 off coupon still brings the price equal or more than other brands.

I spend a lot on feed.

thanks nutty i'm hopeing the few eggs I have hatch but not sure. They was all wiped when harvested. I never washed my hands before handleing them at all. I also have my incubator in my living room right next to my desk/couch.

Sadly I would be happy with even one chick but at the same time I don't want a lonely chick missing others and such.

This weeknd will be a busy one for me I have to build nest boxes in 2 coops and a brooder for the mud room.  Then if I get time I have to build a rabbit hutch. The wife and kids found two lion head rabbits they like wich we don't know if male or female. So I get to build a divided hutch for them.

My eggs for each have have at least been wiped because of mud, I always forget to wash my hands first before handling them although I do wash afterward, and all of my bators are between my living room and kitchen as they are pretty much one big room and mine still hatch so I am sure you will get at least a few chicks

Depends on when you print them, they are generated once you complete the survey thing.

Where in Auburn? I head that way on Sundays.

Not sure if anyone comes up the Boonvillle way but Baileys feed mill for non medicated feed they make themselves is $20 for 100 pounds

Morning Everyone!
Happy Independace Day! Today my first born turns 7!!! I can't believe it. 7 years, feels like only 3 since I've had him. He's on his way up here with my parents. Everyone comes up today for the weekend to celebrate.

My lone Silkie egg is looking good! Everyone that comes up will get to experience their first views of an egg hatching! LOL

Happy Independence Day!

The three ducklings being raised by a hen claimed their birthright today. They saw the freshly-filled water bowls in the run, ran to them, and promptly hopped in and began swimming while their mother looked at them as though they had grown extra heads.

Homework and lots if it ugh, I just can't keep up. So thunder fear in dogs is common the thunder shirts for some but not all, there is a CD you can but to help desensitize them with. I got lucky and just ran eight rand through all types of weather and got a lot quickly. Maybe too desensitized my Pitt will stay out in the rain and thunder storm. I get a locally made fees $16 for 50lbs my birds love it I tried dumor but it's only a dollar cheaper and they only ate when they were starving but there were plenty of bugs to help supplement. I like feeding mealtimes especially in winter.

Well Happy Fourth
And good luck on all the hatches

See now for me it's just too expensive. First I'd need to buy a truck, which I don't have, then I'd need to build a barn to store a large supply cuz to drive up for a bag or two would cost a lot of gas. So like I said it's too expensive. That $20 for a 100 pounds would balloon to say $1,000.00 a bag or more.

Happy 4th of July! I'm currently home alone. DH dropped the girls off at my parents and then went golfing in Boonville with my dad while I was working. I guess I'm going to work on chores and take a look at my garden. Hope everyone is having a good day.

Nutty--Any luck with that roo?
