Peanut butter out enjoying the lovely weather we are having.



TOday my grandfather and I were painting a deck in the wonderful heat. Worst idea ever. Wat we will do to shave a little off the feed bill. I ended up doing most of the work as he came close to passing out twice. plus- we were painting a deck with a roof and looking up while you paint just isn't fun in the heat. We only made it for 4 hours and called it quits. Now we get to finish another day!!!

I don't let anyone come to my house anymore *unless I know them*, in which case, come on by! First off, almost 100% of people get lost and end up at my neighbor's house.. And secondly, I just don't feel comfortable with it anymore. Have had many strange types respond to CL ads and then there's the people who stand you up. And they know where you live. I might make an exception for a massive rehoming (like if I was rehoming 10 chickens) but in general I meet people at a truck stop near my house.

I have only met a few people at my house. Usually, I drive an hour away to meet them at the auction. It works out because I can drop other birds off while I'm there. Speaking of the auction, I brought up multiple birds the other nite and I don't think I have ever seen so many animals there. I felt bad putting mine through as some looked very sickly and I do my best to keep all of mine as healthy as possible. Not to judge but some people just don't care. I say you should give them the best life as long as there in your hands. But I still haven't got my check in the mail for what I sold. Starting to wonder if I will get a bill instead.

Around me I don't have crack heads, I have weird country folks. And by "weird", I mean more desperate to feed their children and families.
Currently I have a gray car driving past every evening very slowly.

Unfortunately I have a bike trail behind my property so I get all kinds of people walking by and my ducks love to get their attention. But there are a lot of creepy people out there.

I hate CL! You never know what your going to get for a response! I will never ever have someone come to my house again after the one instance I had before moving to NY. In was re-homing two finches that I had because I was scared they wouldn't make the two hour trip in the car. Well this kid had emailed me saying he was searching for a finch for his grandmother so I thought great, come by after work around 5. I made sure my son was at my mother's since I was home alone, you never know. Well he never showed. I waited and waited and waited. Finally he comes by at 8pm! It was dark and he had this huge bouncer looking guy with him. I was flipping out, I ran upstairs, my dog at the time (a huge white American bulldog) was going bolistic at the door. I think they knocked and rang my bell at least a dozen times. I'm like who shows up to someone's house to pick something up at 8pm at night!!! Ugh, I was so scared, I'll never do that again!

Could they get it done without me having to drive home and come back?Do they have a website or do you have a phone number for them?

Takes me about an hour to get there, From West lebanon. I bring mine on a day where they can process them and I wait . I bring a book and read. I have also, gone back to the Stewart's and had a bagel and coffee. Let her know how far you come. I have been very happy with their service.

how does that work? Do you bring them there live? And do they have a minimum number of birds?

No minimum. Don't know about a maximum, though. I bring them in cages and get them back in plastic bags. Freeze them, then slack them during thawing. I think last year I paid $4 a bird. Or maybe $3. Can't remember.

On a completely different subject, I just figured out how to work the remote control that's built into my new phone. I can see where this could be fun

Pfffft, I'm the biggest wimp I know! Just knowing you have snakes crossing your driveway is enough to keep me away! Lol Email is my only point of contact too. No phone numbers - ever! I haven't dealt with any weirdos up here since moving here. I haven't gotten a lot on there or posted a lot on there since becoming friends with all these folks.
