You get her hooked on Silkies and I'll kick your butt! WE DO DELAWARES, NOT STINKING SILKIES!

You know another word for Silky ? HAWK FOOD! In fact I saw one on the way home from auction today. I think I'll give him your silky address.

You know how the kids toilet paper houses on halloween, well I'll TIN FOIL your house. That'll learn ya.

Silkies are wuss birds. Delawares eat them for lunch. Delawares are a man's chicken. WOOF!

I only got silkies so I can cross them with Delawares and make tuff birds outta ' em.

I heard even the roos are sissy's and will brood eggs.

My head hurts, I think the tin foils wound a little tight.

Sorry! Poor Trish's already hooked!!

She wants them BAD!!!

And that hawk already knows where I live!!! I used to like hawks, till they started snacking on my silkies. You may need to tinfoil my house ------ the cuckoo silkies have enormous vaults -- even look weird to me & I like them!

Yeah, silkie roos will brood eggs, but it's because they're modern men, not sissies!
tongue2.gif
They try to take on the 14 pound Lav Orp boys in the next pen, because they want their women!!!

Not that they would be able to get up there!

BTW --- Mazeltov! Cookie's a mom!

2 out of 3 so far!

Yay for Cookie! Okay....sooo..when do I need to go and get my supply of tinfoil Miss Renee....lol! You call me the second I can pick them up...we r still doing the splash cockerel and the white pullet..yes?

HAHAHAHAHA
I didn't know my husband had a BROTHER!

That first coop has double hung windows, a 15 light wood & glass door, metal roofing that matches the pole barn, fiberglass insulation in the walls, foam insulation in the roof, a ridiculous amount of roosts, perfect & attractive ventilation that can be controlled --- AND it's all built on a trailer so he can move it around! It's an 8x10 chicken tractor!
duc.gif
Seemed to take forever to build.

I was NOT gonna wait that long for a silkie coop, so I found a playhouse on CL. If practically KILLED him to help me renovate it & he hates the thing! LOL But it got done nice & fast!! Doesn't help that I refused to use "barn red" & opted for lavender paint with white trim.
wink.png
He's a good man & I make him crazy. He still wants to paint it red.

The second silkie coop he took the few ideas that he liked from the playhouse coop and combined them with his amazing carpentry skills. It's 4x8, no wasted lumber, salvaged windows like I mentioned before & raised so they can have some shade & a place to hide from the hawks. I like to think that my "forcing the issue" with the playhouse coop was very beneficial to him!
big_smile.png
He built it really fast, too.

I intend to make a hoop house --- just me & Noah. DH doesn't like the idea, but he's not ready to build me another coop yet. I need another one & this seems like the easiest & least expensive thing for me to do. Guess I'd better get over my irrational fear of power tools!

Power tools are scary, for sure. Sears has a WONDERFUL 4.5 inch blade circular saw that is BATTERY. I have NEVER regretted getting it. I can handle it and I don't have to run a lead cord all over god's green acres to use it. Check it out. It may help. (It's garenteed for LIFE, so it's a good investment to boot)

To make my Darling Husband's life easier, I've bought him every -- literally every -- Ryobi One+ 18v tool that they make and extra LI batteries. Cordless is a good thing!
smile.png
Also got him a 4 piece nail gun set & a 10 inch sliding compound miter saw. And the new Dremel tools. I Love buying tools --- just not using them!!

Yes, I hatched some of her eggs. I picked the eggs up myself since I live near there. The BLRW are very pretty, the rest are decent birds but nowhere near show quality. The eggs were very fertile, but I can't speak to shipping methods!

I think I want to marry YOU.... I love tools. And I use them, but they have to be light, cuz I have a childsized hand. OH, my kingdom for a nail gun to build this with. My hand and wrist hurts soooo bad at the end of the weekend. These better be WARM chickens, so I can hold them to help my wrist after building them a palace to live in.
