Morning all. Yesterday was horrible. The kids were off from school for veterans day so everyone was at the mall. I was alone until 12 and slammed. When the next girl came in, we were both hammered with no time to breathe. Lines out to the doors. I really hate this time of year. Anyways,it was nice to pull in the driveway and see Legolas and the two girls come running to meet me. The kids in the other coop also chimed in with their little bawks. Always makes me feel better and calmer when I see my cheeps.
Busybear--I agree that isolating your chick with a friend will give it some time to recover from the trauma of the new home and whatever is going on with her. Boosting her with electrolites will help and being in a warmer section of the brooder. I use vita-pro-b in my chicks water from day 1 for at least two weeks to give them the extra vitamins and probiotics they need to grow and thrive. I also use it to give my cheeps a boost during molting or if they are looking a little run down. Works good. I hope your chick makes it.
Tab--you arent the only one noticing the costs going up. I am hoping dh gets a deer so I can freeze/can it for the winter. I have been looking for clearance meat as well to make stews and chili to can. I have seen people canning hamburgers and meatloaf as well on the prepper shows. I know how expensive it can be to feed a family your size. My girls are on their own now so its just the two of us.
Rancher--if it is indeed your gallbladder bothering you, watch your fat intake. I found that eating fats really agravated it. Still have to be careful now. I was down to eating brown rice with an eggs mixed in because that caused the least amount of pain. I hope you find a good doctor who can help you. How id dw by the way? Doing well I hope.
Off to deal drugs today. Getting the car serviced and snow tires put on tomorrow which means it wont snow. Have a good day everyone.
