Going to JP's auction on Sunday to get rid of some Cockerals - D'Uccle & Penedesenca if anyone is interested.

Welcome.

Oo, would you take some of my boys too? LOL. Would love to go to that auction, but it's just too far. Do they make you wait there or can you just drop off the box and leave? There's one near me on saturday, but I don't know anyone who has gone to that one. They don't auction until 9PM - if they don't let you just leave I'd be a zombie at 9PM!

I'm cutting way back on chickens, I've sold my adult bw Ameraucanas, and have about 5 chicks that are project birds, they have a lot of blue. I will give them away but you have to take all. They are about 6-8 weeks old. I think 2 are pullets.

Greetings from another Capital District denizen! I've seen your ads on Craiglist - I actually just thought to myself, "oh, there's the Welsummer lady."

All these folks with Sussex chicks... I REALLY want a couple... eek! Chicken math is trying to get me! I'm a newbie, but I tend to get into things pretty deeply when I enjoy them. I guarantee I'll be hatching within a year.

Speckled Sussex, I have them. They need to live with you though. Sunday is auction day and I would hate to have to bring them there.

Hi and welcome to the NY thread.

There's a bunch of us local to you. I'm one of them. (just south of Albany/Delmar in Feura Bush)

I need chickens. Or I MAY need chickens. I *almost* have ray convinced I need the other 4 feet of the building we put up this spring. I got 8 feet of the 12 foot building and he got the other 4 feet. Or SO HE THOUGHT.

I currently have 3 of Jean's Ameraucana stock. (pips&peeps from WA) If I remember right I have one black, one blue and one Lavender. I am positive on the Lav...not so sure on the other 2. Still not sure on gender. IF I have 2 roos and one pullet, I am going to need a few pullets. If that is the case I would be willing to trade one of Jean's roo for 2 or 3 pullets so I can have LOTS of blue eggs. But I am hoping I have 2 pullets and one roo....then I would like to buy a couple of your pullets to add to my blue egg coop.

Oh and I have a wonderful, large silkie roo. If you are trying to breed for size this is your guy. I'll gladly DELIVER HIM, just name the place and time. He's a cutie, but I have way way way to many roos in my starter flock and I can't bring myself to eat a poodle.

Our broody D'uccle was sitting on the wrong nest and the eggs got cold. Well, room temp...which was what today? 72? I took ALL the golf balls out of the other nests. Let them lay their eggs on the floor. I take her worms and clover and dandylion greens. She has small lid with water in it right in the nest box. (you know how small she is, so there is plenty of space) She is back on the right nest box now. I hope the eggs hatch. 19 more days and I'll know it made a difference for her to have been off the nest for hours and hours. Well, maybe I better add a few days for the time they were cold.

Now I want blue eggs. Too bad my Ameruacanas are just 5 weeks old. I have a long wait on that, I guess. Olive and dark brown eggs are just 8 - 10 weeks away.

I have no problem eating my other roos...but really, those silkies look like poodles and I just can't cook anything that cute. (or with that black skin...ewwww)

I happen to have what you need. CHICKS! C'mon you know you love Sussex. So pretty with their spots. Nice eggs too!

I want blue eggs too! I have six olive eggers, the oldest one just started laying. The five from natalie/sonew's eggs are 19 weeks old now and pinking up (all girls, YAY) so hopefully five more olive egg layers soon. Have two minty green EE layers, but no blue. Maybe I'll get a blue egg hen one of these days, but I need to thin down the flock as it is.
