A little blurry but here are the chicklets 5 and the 6th in the incu I am tentitivly saying 4 female and 1 male because of hatch color, the eggs (fingers crossed) came from my barred rock hens with a marran faverolle roo over them making them sexlinks, the 6th has me a bit perplexed but we will she once he/she dries, very pretty though.

All were due tomorrow and hatched last night early morning and #6 hatched about 1/2 hour ago 6 out of 7 eggs set super pleased

Thank you for answering my questions. And great job with your hatching rate.

TSC in saratoga had TONS of chicks this morning - so many I felt bad for the little squeakers all squooshed in there.. Straight run tho, ick. Plus I saw a few probably Cornish X mixed in with the unsexed reds so someone might get a bit of a surprise in a few months..

I'd love to have chicks right now, but just haven't been in the mood yet and the broody parade has not yet started.

Easter weekend. I may have to stop at TSC just to get a chick fix, because the 7 week olds I have are no longer cute lol.
I'm moving the runt chick and her bigger friend to the garage this weekend to join the other 15. Temps are finally moderating and they will have 2 heat lamps, I'll put evey feed dish I have out there so it wont starve.

Today was a good day, nice and warm. Didn't get done what I wanted to, but oh well. Wanted to get some cleaning done, but my back just wouldn't cooperate. May have to break down and see the doctor...I did how ever get 2 things done...First I went and picked up 2 more ducks! These 2 girls are nice. The black and white one has way to much black, but she'll be alright until my eggs hatch and see what I have there.

The second thing that I got accomplished was to help with the water flow in the chicken run. The way that our yard drains in the spring, the run off seems to go right through the run. It already decided what path it was going to take, I just cleared it out a little but. When I went out to close up for the night, I was listening. It sounds like I have a nice water feature in the gate where the water flows off of the rock step.

Chickens don't care for it, but the ducks are sure enjoying all this water!

I have a similar situation here. Everything is flooded. I've plans to do things but no money. I will dig and clear a path to direct the flow to a better location.

Any ideas would be helpful.

Though, last time our electric was out last summer when we woke up the wife started boiling water for instant coffee blahh! I dragged the generator out of the garage and fired it up just to make a pot of coffee, the lovely wife called me a idiot! Lol!
Amazing and she thought you were a genius before huh?

I wonder who is the idiot, the one who is called the idiot or the one who married the idiot?

I tell DW you have no one the blame but yourself.

Of course I'm the smarter of the two. I married HER!
