NY chicken lover!!!!

Our local grocery store sells fertile eggs, but they are brown so I don't think that they would be leghorns....

Brown would probably come from a sexlink. They don't breed true but there is some good egg laying genes in there. Usually rhode island red rooster and barred rock, or delaware or white rock hen.

We don't have trader joe's stores around here but I've read on other threads people having good luck hatching them.
I think I've heard Jewish people require fertile eggs for eating? Could this be why they have them?

A DUCK QUESTION ...
We have 3 boy ducks ...does each duck need its own hen ?
The boys are chasing my hens esp the broody ones ..or each other ..total frustrated ...
We are trying to figure out what to do with them ..either sell them or give them away ..or Just keep a pair ...
I swear they look at me ...saying ...Mom we need a lady ...
A RELATED QUESTION..
Is anyone interested in white muscovy ducks ?
People down the road from us have some & will be moving in june ..they dont want to take all the ducks .
I can ask about them if anyone is ?
They look sort of like these

This made me crack up ..
I asked my son to pick up a cheap bottle of red wine ...
I looked at it ...Did you get this because ? unconsciously
He said " I paid no attention to the label..Sure ....maybe unconciously ?

Played musical chickens
Combined my 2 pens of layers together
Cleaned the 2 empty coops
Moved a trio of sumatras and my b/b/s orpingtons minus the broody into them
Moved the first of three triangle tractors outside and put bantam Wyandottes there
Converted the 75 year old playhouse into a grow up pen and moved all fully feathered chicks out there
Moved my 5 new runners(not Pekins like DH thought) into the duck pen. What happens happens.

1 triangle slide in production, 1 hoop coop to be built for meaties asap, 1 brooder cleared for meaties, 1 brooder ready for whatever hatches from the school (2 batons going there)

Gramma, on the wine, yes, we love that kind! First I had it was in a basket from Chickenstock, maybe 2 years ago. We weren't expecting much, but found we enjoyed it, and have bought several bottles since then. But, one day DH was driving to a job, early, and found himself right behind a large truck all vinyled with the Rex Goliath art, and the saying Rolling with Rex. It made his day! Now when we have a glass of "chicken wine" we say we are rolling with Rex.
