How long has she been sitting? I bet she'd appreciate the eggs. If you're worried the eggs she has are dying because she wasn't keeping them warm enough, maybe wait until the incubator eggs are due to hatch before slipping them under her?

She;s been really good about sitting. I'll check herthrought the day and see if sees still there. I have some known frizzle eggs I can spare.

I dont know about the heat plate ..havent used it ..sounds good
My 1st chicks I had in the house & used those hot bulbs ..they always seemed to be too warm ..
after a week having the babies ...i covered them up with a blanket at night & turned off the lights ..
6 of them in the house at 70 degrees ..it was warm enough...they all cuddled up & went to sleep .
They were fine
so if I am incubating / raising chicks in the house I do this ...
I even used a regular 75 watt bulb in the bin & they were warm enough with just 2 chicks
chickens also get the idea that when it gets dark it is bed time

Heat bulbs come in lower wattages but onnly sold on line. I have used regular incandesent bulbs 75 watts in the house.

Them being up all night just emans they eat more and grow faster. Now I just keep them inside til theri pretty much feathersed then it's in to the back room with a heat light there for a while.

I think the babies need the sleep to grow faster ...all babies regardless of the species seems to sleep more than their parents

I just rescued twho ( cast iron ?) that a feiend ( Fiend ? you know fiends ?) wat atkiing to the scarp place. <- is that where fiends hang out ?

I don't know what is wrong with this coputer thought it only seems to happens on byc. It slow in poutting up the letters.

I just based that on what I've read. Too I've read that raising chicken swinter means they eat more to stay warm and grow faster. It's all on how we see things I guess.

I use a red light mostly. I like to sleep ing peeping chcikes in the basement right under my bed keep me up at night.

Oh my goodness, this is SO true! I'm exhausted all the time. With the longer, darker days I'm just over the top tired.
