Enjoy the fair and the picnic...wish we could come..college weekend for us..bitter sweet.

I am feeling that way too. My oldest is starting high school, next is in middle school and the youngest is in grade school. Thought it was hard when they were all little. Definitely harder now.

Morrisville huh? DW and I stopped at the Copper Turret. Food was good, a little expensive but good. $50 for the two of us. Docs nurse just got a job at the college there. She's real nice and I will miss her. Your very lucky to get her.

Anyhow welcome from Syracuse,

Rancher

I haven't been to Altamont in a few years (somehow I always end up stuck working the weekend it's running, and DH can't go during the week). It tickles me pink to hear that they still have the Chick Follies - gotta love the little chickie carnival!

How funny! My boyfriend works at the good ol' Turret! Pricey, Yes, but delicious food. And they use all local ingredients.

And No, I don't go to the college. I grew up here and continue to enjoy living here. I think I was the only one out of my friends that didn't want to leave.

My love for animals comes from my mom, and we have quite a few together that we raise.

Chickens include bantam cochins, Buff Orps, Red stars, silkies, a couple BCM, and one Terra tint. Along with a few random chicks. We also have 2 pygmy goats, rabbits, a potbelly pig and her Call ducks. 4 pugs and some cats, turtles and fish in the house.

I have Call ducklings avail too if anyone is interested.

Since Pheobe mentioned her flock of animals and mine has changed I'll update everyone,

Still have Dels 21/22 including two roosters. 5 lav orps, 4/1, 2 blk orps both roos, 3 buff orps 2/1 , 4 wht orps 2/2 (one pair going to the auct. ) 2 RIR pullets, 2 frz pullets, 1 BBS pul. 2 dom, pullets, 13 Br's 10/3 (2 going to auc. ) 4 brn leg bant. 2/2 (all going to auction). 4-5 EE's (one non crowing roo looking going to auc. ) 1 roo of unknown going to auc. 1 lav amer roo. (to breed with EE's.).

Will breed dels, orps and BR's and EE's. So in chicken math that's 25 chickens. right?

Yay! I love my pugs. I just got my pugs sister from a different litter for my birthday. Four fawns. They are the best.

We just hatched about 30 Calls betweenthe incubator and 2 hens on the same nest. Colors include black bibbed, chocolate, snowy and pastel.

I have been in love with cochins since I was little. I used to have a red hen named "Goldie" who would follow me around and squat when I wanted to pick her up. I have a barred hen, partridge hen, couple red hens, blue & black hens and a buff rooster. I'm looking for a couple more if anyone knows of any available.

Meagan- Her chick didn't make it and we are both still upset, she has yet to give up. I was really looking forward to it. Do you still need to place that buff silkie roo and Cochin? I will take them.

It's getting closer.... The Pot Luck/Swap/Sale/Chinese Auction/Chicken lovers gathering that is.

Saturday, August 27.

Annie in Vooreesville is hosting it. She has a nice set up, including a pole barn in case it DARES to rain a little that day.

She just picked a time that works for her...11 - 5 .... with the end time being flexable, if everyone is having a good time.

I can't imagine anyone NOT having a good time, so bring a chair, a dish to share and anything else you feel you would like to share.

Please click the link in my signature line for the thread that is devoted to this event and let us all know you are coming and what you plan to bring.

So far we have 14 attendees plus their Significant others and some children....chickens, ducks, eggs, jewlery, chicks, some food and many chinese auction items.

Join us please. Last event of the summer....since it's the weekend before labor day and summer ends on labor day. LOL
