NY chicken lover!!!!

This is kind of why I went with this style as I had been reading some on the Dr. Woods fresh air coops / open front coops are healthier for the birds. My design is not exactly like his because I want to be able to cover and uncover as much as possible depending on the need (season) as my chickens do not get to forage very much.
Let us know when its done so we can see pics ...it is nice to have options

Ya 42 at my house this morning, we have a frost warning for tonight.
I was saying to my family how cold it is for late August / September ..
Wearing Sweat pants and flannel shirts already ...no heat yet ...We will tough it out
Down to 36 here this morn, hope the frost stays away for awhile longer.
Me too ..I have just started cabbage and beets

Re: Coop Design .... my is deep and I have the roost at the far back against the fully enclosed wall - BUT the front wall where the door is is ground to ceiling hardwire cloth !! Not enclosed at all - I ONLY put up plywood to cover it when we are having a blizzard or something - all winter long they have the southwest side completely open. Never lost a chicken in the winter cold .... I do feel ample and good food all winter ....

Well, I just caught up with several pages of posts. This site doesn't notify me of new posts and I forget to look.

So anyway, I found some good information on measuring eggs for cooking. I have a lot of bantams and it is hard to figure out how many eggs to use in recipes, so this is good information to have if your eggs are different sizes.

Egg Conversions:

These approximations are based on a large (2-oz) egg. Other egg sizes may be more or less than the amounts listed below.

Whole Eggs

3 whole eggs = 1/2 cup
1 whole egg = 3 tablespoons
1/2 whole egg = 4 teaspoons

Yolks
6 to 7 egg yolks = 1/2 cup
1 egg yolk = 1 tablespoon

Whites
4 to 6 egg whites = 1/2 cup
1 egg white = 2 tablespoons

Dried or Powdered Eggs
1 egg = 2 tablespoons egg powder + 2 tablespoons warm water
