Thanks. I'm going to work on getting the girls to go to bed early at night with me. We didn't let them nap much yesterday so they went to sleep early, which was good.

Rancher, Did you get your CR from Yard full O rocks? His birds look nice. Growing up in the East Coast of Canada and being in 4-H, CR's were one of the few available breeds. In Comparison to the other birds that came through the Ag Department, they were the nicest/Meatiest of them all.
Since I have separated my birds into pens, the ones in the Pens are not laying that well. Out of the nine I moved, i get 2-4 eggs a day. Is this normal until they get acclimatized to there new digs?
Have a good day all.
Chris
My first day of new hours went well. Most people asked how it was being up at 2am. I told them it was nothing new when you have little kids, its just the staying up part that's new.
It was really blowing outside earlier!
Rancher need some advise on hatching. We are going to put two hens and one rooster in a pen.
take the eggs and check if they are fertile.
Then take the fertile eggs and put them under a broody hen. YES?
What comments? Thanks Aria
Speaking of frizzles Mr. Tim...I believe that mine laid an egg! I'm gonna bring it over along with the EE eggs and let momma hatch them out...if that's okay with you of course....![]()
I've finsished candling eggs. Of those shipped from GA, (Columbian Rocks) 10 seem to be developing. Of the others Dels and a few EE's 17. I'm really hoping the CR's hatch. The Dels too of course, but more so the CR's.
Trylin is going to give me some EE's for the broody in the coop. I never am successful in breaking these girls so I might as well let her have it her way.
Hope everyone enjoys the snow.
Queen and Shellz - FYI I talk alot. I have a T-shirt that says, "Help I'm talking and can't shut up". Not really but I should.
