NY chicken lover!!!!

I don't care what you say, I want DERP eggs! I have derp on my fridge as a magnet. :)

Haha! Well, you could have her sister's eggs (Coho) as she seems perfectly healthy and without genetic weirdness, but the chicks would be faverolles-PR crosses!

Seriously though, if anyone is in SW NY and wants black sex link eggs (PR over BR) please let me know. I'd pay you to hatch me two pullets (I only have room for 2 more-- really-- no chicken math!!) plus you can have the other eggs/chicks of course.

East Nassau representing!

Wow, CoCounty has a strong holding here! I mean, at the Farmer's Market in Chatham, a lot of people "talk the talk" of chickens, but they'd rather shell out 8 bucks a dozen at the Market. (no pun intended). I like it that we have some people representing. Any chicken swaps/ stocks coming up in the area?

Well, not 8, but 5.49 a dozen! I have a friend that sells his for 10 BUCKS a dozen at the Green Market in Manhattan. He must make a ton.......... but the Farmers market is overpriced, but good quality produce. I eat a lot of vegetables and fruits, so I go occassionally, but can't afford 2.50 an avocado, or 5.99 for a pint of blueberries. It's worth checking out though, as they have emu eggs sometimes.

hmmm, I wholesale my extra's to a guy with a green market in Manhattan. He pays me $3 a dz. If he is making $7 a dz ....hmmmmm.

$5.49 is still a lot. Makes me wonder if that is the same price the Berry Farm gets
