about 15 minutes from us. Might have to check it out. Last year there was also one in Canaan NY. Being I live in Canaan I never heard about it until after the fact. Anyone know if they are doing that one this year?

Oh! This one is only 45 min from me. I want to go!

Man, all of you have the fever real bad! I am going to the ulster county tail gate sale. Should be fun. I hope I dont cave because I have 25 chicks coming 2 days after the sale!!! Starting the coop wednesday. WOOT WOOT! The cheeps will be happy cause that means chicken momma and daddy will be home which means they get to go out and play all day instead of staying in their coop/run like they usually do when we work. The "guard"dog will also be outside all day. Not that he is much help. He gets no respect, even from the chickens. I have the only Lab who hates water and refuses to swim in it and wont go out to pee in the rain. Really? and you wonder why the chickens have no respect for you and walk all over you (literally)??? At least he pretends real well to be on guard, if you count barking at leaves, the wind, a passing car, as guard duty.

Annie--love the pic.

Rancher--youre too much. Keep em comin.

Aria--keep me posted

7 pips as of 8 o'clock. I should wake up to some babies in the morning. It's gonna be a LONG 3 days

So I am breaking down and buying a dozen Black copper marans to hatch ( and I think I want sussex eggs if I can find some to hatch) and while I am at it I think I will hatch eastern wild turkeys again this year... MY dh really is going to disown me I think.

I am also buying a plucker cause I have 10 to cull (7 roos and 3 older hens) and want to start doing our own meat birds soon, along with processing our own turkeys.

I'm going to have a plucker by fall. I'm going to build a wiz bang chicken plucker. I was just told of 2 free washing machines I just need to go pick them up

I forgot others....
2 Buff Orpingtons young hens $15 for both, laying now.
A couple of Orpington Marans crosses...$4.00 each look like silver cuckoos, I was going for lemon cuckoo Orps..they are the F1s.

*panting over the OrpXMarans crosses* Why, oh why does this have to be my work weekend? I'd love that cross!
