NY chicken lover!!!!

Sparrker--I didnt do the dry method last year at this time but it was also in my dining room, which we walk by a lot and the heat was on because it was definately not this warm last year at this time. I did have water in it last year because the humidity in the house was low. In the bedroom it is in now, the temp and humidity are holding steady so I am not about to mess with it. Is this your first time using an incubator and hatching? If so, it take some finessing to get it just right. Also, any changes throw off the temp and humidity as well. Things like candling, egg placement, having an egg turner. I know that I do have one side of the bator that is slightly warmer than the other. I have 2 thermometers and 2 hydrometers in mine at opposite corners and it shows this. I just adjust to a happy medium between the two.

Rancher--you had me cackling when I got home and read the forum. I figure that I am doing pretty good right now in the room the bator is in. I went in when I got home tonight and its still holding a steady temp of 100 and the humidity is between 20 and 30 percent, depending on which side of the bator you are reading it from. I will boost it when 19 days gets here.

Long day at the pharm doing a double. Cheeps were not happy being locked up all day. I did get 7 eggs though. My kids bawked at me when I got out of the car so I had to go say hi even though they were already locked up for the evening. Sarah needs her chicken momma for a pet and some lovin. Peepers are really sounding off tonight. My frog hunting girls would love to get ahold of a few of them! Squirrels violated my property lines. The pellet gun is handy. My girls like fresh meat. Its a win win.

Hey Rancher--does my dog count as an old geezer? He's 13 (about 80) and he has to go pee at least 2-3 times during the night!

Now if only he could read we would be in business!

No, these are full sized fruit trees. Wasn't planning to do anything to them juuuuuuuuuuuuust yet, but if they don't even flower this year hubby's going to get really peeved. :p

I would get an all natural organic fertilizer for them it couldn't hurt. This one looks good https://www.planetnatural.com/site/fruit-tree-fertilizer.html I am sure local agway type stores would have something natural as well... Compost or aged chicken poop might help as well... Your soil might be to acidic or alkaline depending on what fruit trees and what your soil tests out at.

goat ropinmusic.... you know, YEE HAw, drove my truck, lost my girl, missed the train, roped a goat. Country music.

Blue seal feeds and Agway are 6 to 7 miles away from home. The 2 TSC's are about 30 miles away. I like it that way. Keeping the smaller stores alive and well.

Do you know what you get when you play country music backwards?

You get you wife back, you get your dog back and you get your truck back!!

The last couple of time I have gone to BS in Chatham the service was lousy! today when I went the woman was on the phone(it didn't sound like she was talking to a customer) completely ignored me until I asked if I should come back when it was more convieneint.

I've never had a problem like that there.

lol on the goat ropin music

Along with that is all other sorts of fun stuff we can do with our text.....

As for the like button, look on the bottom right where the buttons are for quoting from a thread. That little thumbs up there IS the like button. Try it out.

The ducklings went into the handy-dandy dog exercise pen in the garage this evening, as they have officially outgrown their water trough. When you slide back the screen covering their tank and all the little heads can peep out and look over the edge without their having to stretch, they're too big! They're much happier - they're running all over the place, billing through the shavings, flapping their little T-rex wings, and busily trying to eat the grommets on the tarp that's covering the floor.
Speaking of ducks, I'm loving those runner ducks.

It must be the NYS BYCer year of the ducks!

It was an eighteen egg day, which is a record for me - the girls must like the warmth! Trucker Chick showed her approval with another big egg. It's not as ridiculously huge as the one she laid shortly after I got her, but it still bottomed out the egg scale.

Our Muzak system was playing a fairly obnoxious country song today. I said, "Oh, they're playing goat-roping music - yuck." It caught on pretty much instantly.
