I just had my gall bladder out a year ago this month. I suffered with gall bladder attacks for 12 years before deciding it was time to get it taken care of, that and I couldn't take the pain anymore. It is very painful and I do hope your brother-in-law gets better. Mine was infected and I had a stone the size of a large egg that was taken out too. I have never felt better than I do now. Your brother-in-law will be a new man once this is all over. ChickPrincess, why don't they take it out? I am assuming complications like weight and BP, but they now do it with laproscopy and healing time is a week or so. He will be in my thoughts and hoping for a quick recovery for him.

Rancher--high powered pellet rifle. I have lost count as to how many dh has eliminated around here. Mostly reds. We would be overrun if he hadnt mangaged them all. So far not one has made it to any of the coops so no problems with them eating anything!

Warmer today. Going to try to do some housekeeping on the coops, despite my sinus infection. Waterers need a good scrub and the silkie coops need freshening up. Trying to get up the gumption to get up! lol Have a good day everyone.

It's too infected and the surgery is way too risky at this point. We were thinking he may not even pull through for the insertion of the tube last night. The infection is "septic" from my understanding, and the mortality rate for a typical person is pretty high. The infection can shut down other organs. Then you factor in the fact that he's well over 400 lbs, smokes and has had 2 prior heart attacks. It will be 6 weeks with the tube before they can even think about removing his gall bladder.

I am so sorry....it really stinks with the holidays just around the corner. My thoughts are with him and the family, I hope he is a fighter and beats the odds. Please keep us posted on how he is doing.

a small hav a hart baited with crack corn will work for either.

My neighbor across the street found one of my ceramic eggs easily 150 yards from where it was taken. I bet that coon or skunk was a little surprised when he tried to bite down

I saw the squirrel again this am. I use a peanut butter 1/2 sandwich.

I have a LOT of squirrels and I've never seen them go in a coop or even in a run for that matter. They seem to be scared of the chickens

I had raccoons last summer. I tried all kinds of baits, but the one that worked was a raw egg...He is now in raccoon heaven. I put a raw egg in a shallow plastic container, like what margarin comes in. Sardines, peanut butter, or marshmallows didn't work. I caught my cat the first night....

You got that right. I caught a squirrel but not the one I thought it was. I saw him running around. A black one. I caught a gray one. I couldn't use the usual bait since I had to put the trap near the coop, but he's not getting out of the trap alive if I can help it.
