they are useless creatures if you ask me. Kinda like my brother in law.

Good thing for him he doesn't like peanut butter.

I have a red squirrel hanging around the house that appears to have limited use of its hind legs. The poor, stupid thing drags its backside across the deck. It looks perfectly healthy otherwise, and the little sucker can actually climb trees - we're wondering if something had a go at it or if it fell out of a tree when it was young, because it's well adapted to its condition. I don't mind the reds - it's the grays I want to do in. There were three of them sitting in the run today, completely ignored by the chickens. There's a hole in the bird netting over the run they're using to get it, so that has to be patched. Blasted squirrels.

Well you can add them to things I don't eat. Put them with mushrooms, brussel sprouts, and beets. Oh and clams. Yuck poo!

I'd rather eat dirt.
lol, spinach for me... taste too much like dirt... although I do like raw baby spinach leaves.
beets are really good juiced ~ 3-1 with apple juice (3 aj to 1 beet) is a real treat.
and I love my "brussies" as we call em...
can't believe there is anyone who doesn't crave a good fungus now and then either... no mushrooms at all? not even chopped up itty bitty and in a sauce??
clams... I got so sick from them when I was a kid, I lost my ability to digest them, probably a good thing, little poop sucking organs...

it was so warm today, but very overcast. don't trust the fox not to be lurking with the cloud cover, so the gang got about 90 minutes of tightly supervised range time this afternoon. I got the last of the necessary outdoor work done before it gets cold again, it's pretty muddy in the yard, but the coops and run are nice and dry. I have another big load of leaves to bring in tomorrow morning before heading out to work. it'll give them something to do for a little while anyway... spread it out and kick it around...
I also started my first batch of FF, it'll be "ready" tomorrow afternoon, hopefully they won't snub it. I've also got a smaller bucket setup for the chick crumbles, but I'll start that in the morning. the chicks are due to arrive Tuesday morning, thought it would be smart to just start them with FF from day 1.

they might not like the texture if it is too wet ..I let mine drain well in a strainer before I serve it to them ..
Does anyone else like to watch their FF bubble ? i just love to watch them come to the top .
Mine drink a lot less water ...as all there pellets are moistened / broken up ..plus I guess bugs have some liquid in them Ick
