NY chicken lover!!!!

I seen this picture and just had to share with Rancher, because I know you don't have Facebook. It was posted by Chicken Chat, which is P. Allen Smith sponsored by Purina (just to clarify where it came from). Naked Neck Silkie!!!

Kinda looks like a toilet brush don't it? You could call him " Tidy Bowl" or "Scrubbing Bubbles".

On the subject of fishing line, I haven't used it in the coop, but did make a spider web of it over MU garden one year. I had to plant the corn 3 times because the crows would wait for it to sprout then eat the kernel off. They left it alone after I made the invisible web, but the next morning at 4:30 am they were stomping around in the back yard under my window voicing their displeasure.

I am cracking up at the Naked Neck Silkies. And the reaction to them around here.

Everyone is dieing around me. And I don't mean chickens....people. Seems it's "going around". You know you are getting old when you own more than one "funeral outfit" so you don't have to rush to the dry cleaners to get the outfit clean before the next funeral. (am thinking of getting an outfit that is washable at this point, so I can keep up) (No sympathy needed, please. Not close relatives and/or were in so much pain I couldn't cry over the fact they passed since doing so ended their pain) Two relatives died in the same number of weeks and 2 of my clients are so close to passing that you can almost see their spine through their stomach.

I hope spring makes itself known pretty darn soon. I went out and got the hose that scrunches itself up when the water pressure is shut off....i can't wait to see how it works out...I got really tired of pulling the hose back from the coop so the lawn could be mowed. I'll still have to deal with the hose to the garden, but Ray will pull that one back half the time, cuz he eats the veggies too.

I have to start collecting eggs for the grade schools on April 3. I can't wait for the chicks to hatch. Maybe I will get a few I want to keep. Better yet, maybe I will be able to give away all that I don't want to keep without a CL ad. (CL folks are kinda nutty)

Blonde Chick ..I am thinking of changing my screen name to this ...I not a Gramma to anyone ...YET ! I first thought of myself as a gramma to our chicks as they were my son chickens ..

I am so happy, tomorrow is day 12 and I have 13 of 16 fertile and growing and dancing in their shells! Can't wait for hatch day!

Congratulations!

Show girls are so cute and strange looking at the same time. A little too much for me though.

I set a dozen Olandsk Dwarf hatching eggs in the incubator today. Cute little things. Can't wait to see how many hatch. 21 days!!!

I now kinda mix them ...buy the cheap stuff put a little mother in each one ..
Vinegar can be used as a disinfectant spray too .

Drs. & pharmaceutical companies have given people drugs that have expired or are no longer used here because of bad side affects
..so it doesnt always mean something is safe if Big companies & DRs. do it ..they dont alway have ethics .

Presently, ivermectin is approved for use in humans in several countries (Australia, France, Japan, The Netherlands, USA, etc.), to treat onchocerciasis, lymphatic filariasis, strongiloidiasis and/or scabies.
