NY chicken lover!!!!

Candled eggs. Tossed the duds. Most were BR's. About 7-8. I am disappointed about the BR's. I've been letting them out to range, so hopefully, yearnings of spring will make the rooster more amorous.

Here are some from the other day, Pearl and Duncan are making quite the pair! I plan to keep the "middle child" of my chicks that hatched in December. Hoping it turns out to be a hen!

This is the Chick I plan to keep...

Pearl and her babies...they all looked Partridge in color when they first hatched but now they're this black speckled white

MY EYES, MY EYES!!

Those chickens are gorgeous! I really want to hatch some silkies, they are so beautiful...the eggs are probably so expensive...

Awww Thanks! Expensive?!? I don't think they'd be expensive...But knowing mine are all fertile, if you ever want any over the summer I would give you some of mine if you don't mind the black speckled white look. LOL Both my silkie hens are good layers!

Please understand I'm not an advocate of shooting hawks. I am more for deterrence if possible. I was just thinking the other day about those shiny whirly things they sell at the fair and if hanging them from the trees would help. I figure I can tie a string to a rock and toss it up over a branch and then hoist them up high into the tree. We have quite a few trees.

Moving on. Lord have mercy I snow blowed this Am and now the snow is all melted into a muddy mess.

Take care folks, Places to go and people to annoy.

Oh dear, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to imply that you were for shooting hawks. I think that prevention and deterrence is ideal, too. I meant to make a general statement. My apologies!

What do you consider old eggs ?
Eggs Last a month ..or more .The ones in the stores are that old I have heard ..Another reason why they have no taste .
I have 4 dozen in the frig right now ..I havent seen my customers in a week ..or so ( 1 was one vacation ) they will show up ..if I dont deliver some to them ..
I get 3.00 - 3.50 a dozen for our large to jumbo eggs . Stores around here sell Brown eggs for 4.00 + a dozen
