NY chicken lover!!!!

Well I lost my 1st chicken of the year ...a baby roo .
the 2 flocks were in one pen when I came home at 10;00pm . a note from my hubby said all in one pen & getting along ..<-1st clue ) they dont get along )
When I went in to separate them ...there were only 10 ...one was missing ..so I looked for it ..no sign of it ...
Hoped it would show up this morning ..it didnt . guessing a fox got it ..No one in the house heard anything ..of course .
So I have been out most of the day watching for a fox ...it will come back....

I must say a newly hatched chick, of any breed, definitely looks like an alien! LOL It's out of it's shell. That pip must have occurred last night and I didn't see it. This thing was hard at work all day and I couldn't take my eyes off of it! It's drying out now in the incubator. Looks like it's going to be another light colored chick, possibly a splash? Who knows, it's from the black hen and blue roo. I'll take some pic as soon as it's cute and fluffy.

I hear more cheeping come from the BR egg. Nothing from the Orp eggs. I'm hoping at least 1 orp egg hatches so I can see what these chicks will look like. The BR x Splash Orp roo should be interesting.

I have to share this pic I just took of the ducks (Just yell at me if you all are getting sick of my duck pics LOL) I love it, still don't have a name for this gal yet, the black is Lucy. The blue girl was looking up at the sky and it just looks like has a smile on her face.

Well since I've never been I think you two should pick and I will be there. I will just make sure to set my alarm on my phone 20 mins early so I'm not late.

Are we setting a Time and place? Somewhere we can eat and talk ? Or at least sit and talk? Should I stick any chickens in a carry bag?

Thanks, I got the pair from ke5hde, he thinks she might be a splash. We'll have to see after she goes thru a molt. She does have some black "spotting" to her. I posted some updated pics of her and Lucy in my Duck album below. You can see her feathering a little bit better in this pic...

My raspberries did not do well this year so I stopped by a road side stand that runs every year. $11.00 for a quart of raspberries! Can you believe it? I haven't bought any recently and it looks like I won't be now. Holy Cow!!

I think of Lucy from Charlie Brown. So maybe peppermint Patty or Marcy.
