NY chicken lover!!!!

Here's a pic of Gru hanging out by the rabbit cages again this afternoon. He was with the girls all morning but it seems he likes to rest here in the afternoon. Could it be because this is where the ducks are resting in the afternoon?

He looks like he just likes hanging out in the shade.

I'm changing my guess. I just zoomed in and see some pointy hackle feathers. Now I have to go with roo but I reserve the right to change my guess again ;)A very pretty EE by the way.

My netting came today at 4:30 and it literally took me 15 minutes to set up!!! Thank you everyone who recommended it!!!

I left a panel (door) open while I took my daughter to dance and they were all in there when we got home besides the BR hen. They looked so comfortable in there.

Thanks, not knowing how long I'll keep chickens I can't see the expense of those fancy specifically for chicken coops they build now.  With hoops or garden sheds you can convert it back or use it for something else.

I've plans to build a ground level hoop for storage of shavings and hay/straw.  Hoops have also been used for sheep and pigs.

Absolutely I would agree, I did it because it was easy affordable and I could move a large coops around as I pleased. I've heard of them even used for goats.

I want to make another one next year but smaller.

I have a different tarp for the back and want to put a vent up top. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Well my tall grasses were getting out of control on the sides of my porch steps, finally dug them out and split them. What a pain in the neck that was! Finally got it done and split up half of the bunch and placed them around the back of my pond. Hoping next spring they come in and fill up the back "wall" of the pond.

It's looking great!
Does your roo help round up the girls at night?, there is always that chance he just isn't interested from what people tell me. He's looking good resting in his shade spot!

Lynzi,

The grasses around the pond were a good move (literally) and will probably come in nice and lush next year. It'll be a nice backdrop and maybe even a sort of safety barrier for the duckies.

Glad your netting project went well and is working out.
