NY chicken lover!!!!

Miquwid - not really. He just goes into the coop to roost and sometimes they follow, sometimes they linger around outside. I'm beginning to think that their not "respecting" him because he came wayyyy after they did. They've been here over a year and then I brought him in. Where as If he were raised with them things may be different. He just seems to be on his own free ranging a lot lately. Just thought it was odd.

Quote: I am leaning toward Roo...Has saddle feathers too...no rooster wattle ...But barely any wattle at all ..Maybe it is 1/2 & 1/2 ...LOL
It limps from its injury ...maybe why it got stuck under the deck last night ...it got in & couldnt figure how to get out ..I was busy ...so I couldnt get it out right away .
It was dark by the time I got to it ...put on gloves & long pants & crawled under the deck ..I think it was asleep when I got to it .
When I went to pick it up ..it started screaming..right in my ear .. seemed like 5 min ...then all the other chickens started up a racket ..so funny
I talked to it & it finally settled down ...
the hard part -
was getting back out carrying a chicken ...I had to go hands & knees ..only 1 hand as the other had a chicken ..lol
Life with the chickens ..always a adventure ...

I borrowed a Tow Behind Lawn Sweeper..from my neighbor ...for lawn sweepings for the coop...
time to start collecting for the winter .. it was kind of fun ...& a lot easier than raking ..
Just might buy one $ 250.00 - 1000.00 ...not sure where we would store it though ...we have a shed but it is already full of stuff

This netting is the best money I've ever spent! I realized today that it would be perfect not only for the chickens, but for letting the rabbits out of their cages and letting them run around the yard without losing them. Gru seems to like the idea.... Maybe he just prefers rabbits over hens LOL

I get to laugh at this because I've done similar contortions to get chickens out from hard-to-reach places. Any semblance of grace while pursuing or extracting chickens is ruined. I don't know about you, but I am usually grumbling under my breath the whole time, too, which adds to the picture we must make.

Now that is CUTE! Gru must just be a mellow kind of guy. Maybe he just doesn't realize he's a chicken.

I can understand that, chickens are something keep us on our toes.

I can actually picture this in my head and though probably nerve racking at the time, I'm definitely giggling a bit now. Well I'm happy it turned out okay!

If you can get that machine do it, especially if you have a big area. Build a hoop shed.

I love raking leaves I usually get to the before any child can lol I'm a party popper.

I'm glad it's really working for you! It seems we always see Gru lounging lol he's one chill chicken. The bunny is so cute there With him.

Body!!!   Had one today at work.  Why can't people mind their own business?   I nearly quit!

I know the feeling in my head I'm shaking them saying my own business. One we have is out on medical leave but almost everyday has been "To say hi." UGH

Back to work it's a late one today. 9pm quittin time!

Hey miquwid,

My Gertie sends her best regards to your recovering Brabanter. We're both happy she's doing better. Gertie says so herself, but it just sounds like "Guk-guk-guk." (This seems to be the extent of her talent for language.)

Happy Friday everyone.
