NY chicken lover!!!!

about 45 to 50 yards behind our house and down a hill is a natural corridor like that. I've killed deer there using the duck coop as a rifle rest

. It is where I have killed quite a few criiters as well including a gray fox a few months ago. This area on our property is an old fence line when the property was a few hundred acre farm. The critters all travel along the hedgerow apple tree line.

Sounds a lot like my house. We have not yet killed a deer there but a lot of other critters including a fisher.

My husband had a couple of free magazine subscriptions sent to the house for something he bought or signed up for. One was Time Magazine. There was an article in the most recent one just sent the other day about the overpopulation of "pests" such as deer, bears, moose, foxes, alligators, etc in the world and how they are opening up new laws to allow people to hunt these animals in certain states. It was very interesting. This is just the beginning of the story, you have to subscrible or log in to read the full story.

2 property's down along the rail road tracks...maybe 1/2 mile away a friend of mine recently trapped 2 Fisher's . He had a busy week that week (week before opening of rifle). Between my property and the one I just mentioned he did well. Besides the fishers a few coyotes at the other property. At my place ( 500 to 600 yards from the house) he got a HUGE boar raccoon, a red fox and a coyote. All from 2 traps 10 feet part

. In 5 days he had 12 critters to skin from just a few traps on the 2 properties.

That's pretty goo. My uncle trapped for 2 weeks and got 9 coon, 2 fox, 2 fisher, and 5 coyote. But he had a lot more traps out. He had 3 at his house where he got the foxes and fishers but the coons and coyotes came from his friends house.

I had 3 out and got nothing that week . Which actually I was ok with. Means they were not close to the house.

Yah, I had 2 traps out but didn't get squat. I didn't put anything close to the house though as the dogs are all over here. If I put them closer to the house I think I would have had at least a couple foxes.

Rancher - the eggs you bought off Ebay, you said you went to the post office to pick them up? They didn't get delivered to your house? I'm thinking about buying some duck eggs but want to know how the shipping works, will they ship directly to my house?

not that this has anything to do with trapping, but...... my favorite aunt died today from florida. I found out at work today. she no longer has to walk the valleys and hills of this life and she is free now. enjoy your family while you can everyone!!

When shipping live birds I always have to pick them up but I always have eggs get shipped to my house.
