The more durable the fabric the more durable the rug.   I used to love using denim jeans that didn't fit my children any more and the bottoms of jeans legs cut off for summer wear

I have a tote full of jeans that are worn out, holes, ect that I saved for a project like this. If anyone can use them, I'll bring them to the picnic. Or someone teach me!

Good morning
Went out to open the coops today and found the breaker for the garage outlets tripped. It's the same breaker that runs the big coop. Ordinarily it wouldn't be a big deal but the chick's that hatched NYE are in the grow out pen in there. I thought for sure I had lost some but the little guys are tough. Everyone was huddled together keeping warm. From the look of the timer for the main coop light, the breaker tripped around 10 last night. I have to remember to turn the air compressor off when I'm done with it.

That happened here across the street many times last winter. The horse had gotten out from the pasture a handful of times because the deer had either knocked a fence over or broke the electric fence. We had to lure him back there twice with apples and relatch the fence. His owner did it the three other times.

Me too. I took mom out of there yesterday because I lost 1 from getting tangled in her feathers, so the only heat source was themselves.

Well I mentioned yesterday, we've been putting one of the mouse traps out on the front porch each night since moving that brooder up there and we've caught one mouse so far. Well this morning DH went out there to check the trap and he said there was a young/small rat in there! UGH Soo gross! I'm going to have him keep that one out front and set the other in the chicken yard tonight. I'm still curious if there are more rats than the 2 we caught and they just weren't coming out because the temps had dropped into the negatives last week. Although I haven't found any more holes or new digging so who knows.

I know, I just saw a herd of deer running last night through the woods behind my house. The dogs were going crazy all night...

The Orpingtons that I got from Rancher yesterday. Top pic are the hens, middle pic is one of the roos, and the bottom pic is of the roo I already had.

They are some good looking birds in my opinion.
