See you figured it out! As long as you don't drink all that beer...I just love making wine..and drinking some!

This is a very very old house and the porch is an addition to the back of it, so there is a problem with having a stone foundation between the drain and the house. We haven't had this problem in the past....just this year because of the weather being able to get to the actual drain, due to outdoor walls surrounding the bottom of the porch not being in place. I think fixing that problem will move to the top of the list for spring. OR I could just move to one of the Carolinas and forget cold weather altogether. (except this year...poor southerners)

Clearly the choice is yours, but it would be a shame to have to replace that washer for want of a few dollars spent on plastic wrapping.

As for the South Alabama is my first choice. Real Estate is cheap last time I looked.

OMG...click the link, click the link already..... It will take you to the pictures that show you how to assemble the cutest little snowman out of hard boiled eggs, complete with little carrot hat. If you have children or are having a winter party you have to make these. (If not to eat, then as a center piece.)

And we can make them so many different sizes with all our different size eggs. Gramma you HAVE to click the Link....and Tab too. The kids will absolutely love these. (PS...it takes you to a FB Page, so I am not certain, but pretty sure I am not sending you somewhere you will get anything nasty on your computer)

yup too cute!

Rancher---you do exist! I was beginning to worry

Lynzi--nice pic of Stella and Nancy.

Got about 3 inches of snow so far. Roads to and from work werent too bad. I just hate the people who think they can still do 60mph on unplowed, sanded roads. Doesnt work well when you want to stop. Anyways, my silkies arent liking the blowing snow but are putting up with it. I have two lf hens hiding under the coop. They went under before it started snowing and havent come out yet. Go figure. Silly chickens. My itch to hatch is getting stronger and you guys who are hatching arent helping any!

Almost forgot...saw a dead red fox by the main road on the way into work this morning. It was beautiful, in great shape. Too bad it will go to waste. Deer have been passing by here frequently looking for food. I think they smell the chicken feed. This has been a hard winter for them. I see them eating pine now.

My neighbor called me and in the course of our conversation mentioned that her son, Timmy(who is 1 1/2) is still looking for the chickens. His father told him they went to florida for the winter. Tim loves all things chicken and loves my chickens. He is walking now so I expect to see him running after my chickens come spring when they are out freeranging. When he gets older, I will introduce him to coop cleaning and feeding and watering. Gotta get them when they are young right?

My cat is insisting on laying on me while I am on the computer so I will go now as it seems she requires worshipping.

I hate Noble shavings....they are the wettest and are full of bark & crud...I tried them when they first started up, I much prefer the canadian shavings and they cost the same...

I get my noble shavings straight from Noble themselves and they're my favorite for both my horse and my chickens.

Getting really excited for Spring, c'mon warmer weather!!! I've been searching and searching and searching to find silkies and bantam cochins that I want to add to my flock this year and so far I'm in love with what I have lined up and will be getting. I have a Splash Silkie pair that I'll be getting in the next couple of weeks. I have a Splash Cochin hen and Calico Cochin Roo that will be shipped to me as soon as it warms up a bit, I'll be picking up a frizzle hen from ke5hde along with a mottled cochin roo as soon as I get the Orp Trio moved into their new coop and get the bigger one cleaned out. I need to find a few more hens, preferably another cochin hen and maybe another frizzle of another color, but even if I could find 2 more cochin hens that would be perfect. I'll have 3 Silkie hens, 1 Cochin hen, and 1 frizzle hen. And I'm up to 4 roos, not sure what happened there LOL

but that's ok. I want my options open when it comes time to breeding to get more frizzles, silkies and sizzles. My main focus is the Splash coloring this year. Anything else I do will be for fun only. Soooooo excited!!!!

You'll have to keep me posted on your extras that you will be selling. May be looking to buy some this spring/summer . May have DH convinced that I could build another small coop for some bantams. Our little d'Uccle is the kids favorite and I keep reminding him that little Peepers needs some friends her own size!

My roo looks like hell. He is doing alright I may try to take some pic tomorrow. His waddles are starting to turn black and dry up. I looked at them this afternoon and I just wanted to cry they looked so bad. His comb now has some blisters on them, but when I locked up tonight they weren't as noticable as they were this morning. it looks like he may end up losing a little less then half of his waddles. Not sure how much of his comb he is going to end up losing. The first day of spring is only 53 days away. It can't get here soon enough!!!

What brand is that? I buy Nobles cuz they're cheaper than TSC and a bigger package too. Both brands of shavings at CM are in plastic, and like I said the plastic sweats in the summer heat.
