Evening all. Getting ready for the big snow. Made sure to get a couple of bags of feed so the cheeps dont starve. Pharm was crazy mad with everyone trying to get all their meds before snowmeggedon gets here. Lots of excerisize tomorrow shoveling snow.

Laffin'. Why? I mean really? This is the Northeast. We get snow. The plows move it to the side of the road and we drive on snow free roads the day after the snow stops. It's going to warm up. By this time next week we will have mushy snow and a week later it will ALL be gone. Why do people panic about a snow storm but otherwise are not prepared to be without power for a week? Remember how far in advance they predicted Hurricane Sandy? And yet people were caught without food in their house to survive for the 2 weeks it took to restore power. (Those who lost their entire home are excluded from this ridicule. They may have been super prepared but their house floated away, taking all their preps with it) I wish I was a drinker. Seriously. I would get a case or two of beer and drink myself stupid until the snow stops. I just can't take the insanity EVERY DARN TIME IT SNOWS. (it's snow people, not volcanic ash)

Then all of the sudden she started to freak out. I should have put her down I was almost done, but instead I held on to her. Well stupid me didn't have any gloves on and she made a big gash in the palm of my hand. Man it hurts. I came in and cleaned it really good and put some antibiotic cream on it...


Not bad for a first attempt. I have already changed a few things to make it better. If anyone is interested let me know! I have different fabric. I was working on one with a chicken print when I had to stop. I

We have all been slashed by a chicken ! Very sharp Nails !
I bring them in ..& put them on a table or in the sink so they are the right height for me to work on them ..a bit easier .
I actually got slashed on my hand too last night by my cat ...He forgets his manner sometimes ...He wanted to get down too ...
Well he got down & then he got smacked ..He was my sons cat he taught him to bite & scratch him .
My Son regrets it now... when he visits us ...he goes to pet or pick up the cat... it immediately goes into combat mode ..
Nice Apron ..I did mine with a baby bib ...the Chicken hated it ..wouldnt stand up at first .....she forgot about it when she was outside with the flock

(NON CHICKEN RELATED) I have to vent somewhere. I guess that it is a sign of the younger generation..I just found out that my littlest sister just got engaged..I found out on Face Book!...What the hell!.... When my husband and I got engaged yes I waited a week to tell my family, his already knew cause he showed them the ring, but I waited so that I could tell them IN PERSON! Well DH took my mom aside and asked for her permission to marry me. They came walking out of the other room and I got a thumbs up, so then we made the announcement. I would have been happy with a phone call! I talk to my other sister at least 3 times a week, but my littlest sister I'm lucky if I talk to her once a month. She doesn't return my calls and for the most part only calls me when she needs something...I love her and will do everything that I can to help her, but come on..on face book really?

I only found out my cousin was pregnant on the day she gave birth last week. :-/

I guess I should have posted this yesterday ...
TT solved the problem ...there is no egg there this morning ...either she noticed the crack or it squished .
I can see egg yolk on the remaining egg ...no shell or anything from the other egg .
so she is down to one egg

I hate when they do that.

When I shop on Ebay ...I look for listings that dont have free shipping .
Or ask the seller can I pay the shipping ...

I did not know this.
Also with Amazon you can pay "premium" of $79 a year and get free shipping, but I don't order that much on line. I did order two items from Amazon but one qualified for free shipping if I spent $35 but the other didn't, so I paid shipping.

I did not know this thing with E bay. Both Thermo/hygrom's were posted one with free shipping the other with out. Exact same things. My whole point is people think they're saving with free shipping and they're not.

I'm with you guys and the snow. It's winter it snows. Seems everyone panics every time time the wx people mention snow. Doesn't anyone have the common sense to have extras on hand at all times?

OTs like people have gotten dumber with all the new technologies we have these days. What do you think they did before radio & tv when they got snow? Just carried on with their daily lives.

To make it chicken related the girls don't mind walking they snow as long as it not as high as the feathers

I say the same thing all the time. Heck what we've gotten here is nothing. I do worry about ice and no power but if I buy a generator how many times would I use it? I knew I'd not be able to shovel the first year we bought the house so I got the biggest snowblower I could afford. W/ a warranty that says they come to the house if anything goes wrong.

I make sure we have the staples, bread, milk, half an half, coffee, and of course I've got eggs so we're good to go. I get coupons for 20% at Christmas time from B&N? and I buy starbucks holiday blend. I must have 7 pounds in the closet. Always go to have a gallon of half and half in the house. I just bought a box of 50 packets I think of hot cocoa. No whisky though. I'm afraid that wouldn't last long.

We do have a freezer though. A small freezer isn't that expensive.

I try to make sure there is plenty of feed on hand all the time.

Now those folks making sure they've got enough meds, that's smart.

Yet we've not gotten much snow this year at all here in the Cuse.
