NY chicken lover!!!!

Anyone interested in some Easter Egger chicks? 6 weeks old likely three hens and two roosters going by their feathering. Mostly mixes of black and white, two Roos have red wings and chests. Duane is the Roo so likely to become nice size birds very fast and lay blue/green/possibly olive eggs.

I just gave away a nice EE roo. He was very friendly but I had to. Sold 10 del chicks for a $1 ea and gave away four roosters and a young BR pullet. I may have to downsize some more but can't decided who to give up.

Plenty of eggs. Nice EE and OE eggs.

Well I'm going to have to keep an eye on my cuckoo maran. She had something hanging from rear end so I managed to net her and turned out to be a shell. I slowly pulled on it and I think I got just about all of it out. I hope if anything left in there doesn't cause a problem and she can pass it with her next egg. She had an egg on coop of floor today which she never does and her eggs have been kinda spotty with coloring being lighter so I guess egg has been in side for a bit and she's been passing eggs by it.

Got my sportsman and already starting my egg hatching figure I'm going to try and do about 30 chicks a weekend as long as I can keep buyers coming.

I let my chickens that I hatched for the nyd hatch along out with the other birds today and they seemed to get along ok but the younger ones ran and kept to themselves. Left both coop doors open so will see who sleeps where tonight, wife will have fun trying to count them all lol.

It might be time to up the calcium. Have you got Oyster shell out?

So all along I've thought that my Barred Frizzle Olive Egger has been laying brown eggs. This week we have gotten 2 olive colored eggs. Way to go slacker, you only hatched last April.

thats what I have been saying to my EEs ....for months SLACKERS !
It takes more growing ...Months ...to produce different color eggs dont ya know ? LOL

Spring definitely IS on it's way! Warmer outside today, egg production is up, crows finally found some grass rather than digging thru people's trash! LOL

Seems to me kinda high for a bird she intends to eat if she doesn't sell. Heck, that would be an expensive meal for sure. If I really wanted him I'd make an offer.
A lot of the animals she raises are for meat. She doesn't want to eat him but if she can't find him a good home what else is she to do if has no use for him on her farm. I'd rather try to sell an animal rather than letting it go for free or cheap if all the next person is going to do is eat it as well. She was accepting best offers as well, she thinks he has a new home. Someone is interested.
