i think alot of people are thinking of meat birds this year with the cost of beef and pork and everything else going up as fast as it is. doing bigger gardens too. it makes sense, do you have a setup for 25 meaties, they get big very quickly

Didn't get anything at the auction last night, prices on the new stuff was higher than in store, the Rooster Booster was lumped together with 4 buckets of stuff I didn't need, and the plastic feed/water dishes were sold as the entire display case. They went for about $40 each case, but no way did I want that many! The LG still air incubators went for $35 and I know TSC marks those down lower after chick season. Or Lynzii has one for free. The 10 T-posts went for 22.50, wanted them but it was one of the last items so the bidding went quicker than I could get in.
Today I'm eyeing some field fencing for the horses and a 10x10 dog kennel, so Harvey doesn't have to in the house while we are gone (thinking Chickenstock)

That's stinks. How do they expect to get rid of this stuff if the prices are pretty much the same they were when the store was open. Owell. I actually "sold" my LG to someone on here for the price to ship it. So that's gone. I'm going to stick to my Brinsea for now, especially after talking to someone else who uses it and finding out that if I really wanted to I could put 12 bantam eggs in it, I would just have to hand turn.

People were buying it up! But I wasn't going to pay that for something I could buy cheaper in store. Guess it all was from a store in NJ, the price tags on them certainly reflected it.
I didn't watch the chickens sell, but dad said they were going $5-$13 per bird.

Almost forgot the 'entertainment'. Mom, dad and I were walking around, checking stuff out while waiting for them to get to my stuff. There was a rather large man sitting on some stuff to one side. After we got past him, mom started laughing. His worn out green sweatpants were torn in the crotch and he had no underwear on, so everything was just hanging out. Gross and hilarious.

? Wow ....

indeed .... couldn't he feel the breeze ? Or maybe he was getting a thrill out of it ... Yuck.

Glad I didn't take the long drive out there .... it always amazes me how people want to sell at and people do bid at prices that are nearly what the store sells - no one must know about sunk costs anymore.

If I am going to pay full price for my feeders - no matter how nice a one someone is offering me used - I'm going to pay a squidge more and get the color and exact size I want - unless the cost is a real bargain. I wonder why people think they should get prices that match a store's sale price. Oh well.

The plastic feeders would have worked out really cheap, but just waaaay too many.
They end up having a few horses consigned, caught the end of the last one. Looked like 3 yearlings and a 2 year old, maybe Standardbreds for or from the Amish. $75-$115 each.
