NY chicken lover!!!!

Does anyone know of anyone wanting to sell a Frizzled anything? If things hadn't been so crazy, I'd have driven several hours for ranchers chick. Things are still crazy but don't want to wait much longer to add him/her. I live just outside Corning, NY. sue

So Since I finished reading posts here I started reading the facebook BYC threads. Someone there posed this video.

what are all your thoughts on this?

Doesn't seem right to me but I know too little to judge.

PS: rancher - you rule =)

This is what I said on the site.

I know my roosters make a lot of noise if there is a problem in the yard. Like when the fox came and snagged a hen. I was able to come running and did in fact save the hen as the fox dropped her. She was fine and sitting on eggs today.
Not sure how I'd feel if the roosters couldn't sound the alarm.

Here I'll say, I suppose if it isn't hurting him it's okay but I'm not sure it isn't hurting him. This guy says his rooster told him it was fine. Sounds a little nutty to me. He might be trying to say "get this darn thing off me!" for all I know.

I'm afraid I'd have to give you a bunch of Del eggs so you'd be sure to get some of my Frizzle hens eggs. I suppose I could move her back with the EE's and see if I can spot her eggs.

I hated to part with the pullet I had, but with DW and all that's going on I'm still not sure what to do?

I'm trying to stay calm but really freaking out. I can't imagine what she's going through. I'm not sure if I'll have the time for chickens.

Would it hurt to pull hens off egg and get rid of them if they're not done sitting? Who will take this nasty Birchen Rooster?

I dread packing up these ducks to go. That's really part of the problem too. I'm not up to chasing chickens.

Anyone going to this show want some EE chicks?

I'm only letting them sit for replacements and to pick the best to breed, but will I be able to care for a bunch and care for DW? I just don't know.

If I'm going out of my mind, what must she be going through?

got my 8 chicks today. Was worried because they were supposed to be here yesterday but tracking had them out for delivery in cleveland ohio. Luckily they all seem healthy, took to food and water like champs. They are currently running around the brooder like crazy ladies. My puggle keeps looking in on them, i think hes gonna be a good guard dog for them. hes really curious but very gentle witth them also. So far I've been pooped on twice but thats no big deal, I grew up around cows and a baby chick poops alot less than a full grown holstein does.

Dust bath they've got play sand in it no burn ban been lifted so we could start a fire in the pit ashes. I pull greens with soil (I'am a crunchie so no chemicals for yard ) feed it to them along with some fall leaves. All three of them nestled in there tonight sleeping Coro is brave critter flew at me, Maran is the thinker first figure out chicken nipples, Lavender friendliest might have to do with other half giving to many treats.

Please take lots of pictures Saturday, good luck to those of you who are showing.
Rancher you need your chickens now more then ever, they'll help you with stress and working threw your frustration, fear, and helplines in the months to come. You must take care of yourself mind and body so that you'll have the strength to support your wife.
I'am a closet urine user (townie can't void openly in my yard) Folgers can in my bathroom so if you ever visit don't open it! Haven't seen raccoon in couple years here, eight feet away from bob cat this spring at work. It was beautiful glad there was french door and solid walls between us.
Fawn was pretty I would take it as a sign. There does seem to be allot of deer this year, we had three walk out in front us in industrial park in Amsterdam.
Off to bed everyone have a productive Friday.

Such cute baby pix! Baby goats, fawns, chicks...

Gramma, the early spring pictures I got were on email, I don't know how to get them to BYC. Our giant retaining wall and landscaping project may wind up today. I sure hope so. Then grass seed, and plantings for windy location, must research that. I better get going, my excavator may show up any time. 7:15. I'm barely caffeinated at that hour.
