I just finished some Loaded Potato Salad..

I hate it when it is a party so you are happy..but then the reason for it makes you sad.

I am making a rice salad and I am pretty sure my husband will accompany me...yes, we will miss Lynzi, but we have to give her a good send off! Maybe she'll come back...buy a farm and breed silkies that she refuses to allow her husband to use in his upscale restaurant that he opens using only BYC grown eggs and other local foods....

Got in trouble with DH this morning...He went to go get on the tractor to mow the yard and he found that there were several piles of chicken poop on it. Our back covered porch is where he keeps it during the summer...Well the chickens like to climb on it and check it out. The cat likes to sleep int he seat...What am I to do?

I won't leave my peeps locked up all day when they can be out and about, and our cat is old and can do mostly what ever he wants..Looks like I need to make sure that I check the mower before he gets home so that it is all clean or at least right before he is going to go out to mow.

Cleo and Jessie are co-parenting the eggs. They stay snuggled in there together all the time. I finally just put all the eggs in there and they share them. I'm going to move them into their little coop in a little bit. I hope that they continue being good co-parents but I guess only time will tell. The eggs that they are sitting on are on day 14 so it will be soon. The chicks most likely will all be for sale. They should be nice silver laced bantam cochins. The key work is should, my frizzle roo has been taking liberties with her so they might end up frizzled, won't know till they start to get their feathers.

When will I be able to tell if my sizzle chicks have curly or smooth feathers? They are 2 weeks old. They have all of their pin feathers on their wings and they are straight...I hope that they are curly feathered, if not then they might be up for sale too.

I hatched a bunch from Lindsay's eggs. They're about the same age. It's pretty easy to tell already.

I did do a few things while my daughter took DW. DW said I could go alone but I don't feel comfortable doing that.

So I picked up my minivan at my DD's and went and got a couple of 48"x6' pallets in nice clean condition.

then went and go some horse manure and met Gramps.

Then went to TSC that has jeans on sale and got this on clearance. To put my broody hen in. It will fit inside the large hoop coop.
