NY chicken lover!!!!

Have you considered putting it inside cardboard box? Not covered mind you but tall enough to protect the sides. Not a tight fit but just enough to have an inch space on all sides. Not sure about it, just a thought.

I have it surrounded with the brinsea dividers and also I put a towel across the top this time. I lost power yesterday so, I hurried to keep everything warm. Luckily, I lost two degrees in my incubators; that's all.

I will tell you it is holding the humidity though. I can't get it to 65 wants to be at 70%.

I can certainly bring my 'stuff' to show people - I could possibly bring a top bar hive too. I would be happy to share my info. just bear in mind I'm not an expert! If anyone wants to help out with the session that would be great!

Haha! If I bring a hive, it won't contain bees! You really shouldn't move bees from one spot to another, it disorients them - also the hive would be very heavy from the honeycomb! I'm a little old lady so I can't lift that much weight.....

Skip it.

Go with the Genesis 1588. A better incu and better deal. I have an older model and it does pretty well. It was recommended by Speckledhen and she didn't steer me wrong.

Only trouble I had was the turner was broke (one row for eggs was broke) and I didn't have time to return it. I've been using it without the one row and it's fine. Keeps me from hatching to many anyhow.
I will look into it.

My rule is 35% to day 16, then to 55% to day 19, then to 65% to finish. Though a variation one way or the other might not hurt. Better just below 65% than higher I think.

Each has to get their groove. Incus vary too.

I just had a 97% hatch rate with the HovaBator Genesis 1588 w/automatic turner that came highly recommended on here. The minute the last egg came out, I washed it thoroughly and set it again!!!
Addicting!! And people here in NY are scrambling for baby chicks right now!! :)

I started to candle tonight but will get a newer light soon. It looks good and since I have one row missing from the turner, I might be up the creek if all eggs are fertile. I doubt it though. We shall see.

I had extra eggs sitting on top of others. Expecting that some will be infertile and I'd have space.
