Where exactly are you located? I'm in no big hurry to re-home them. For now, I'm enjoying everyone immensely! But I do feel that the relationship between Fabio (my salmon Faverolles cockerel) and Dexter will continue to decline. They are sparring with each other more and more as they grow. Nothing serious yet. It's actually quite funny!
Because Dex is a Delaware (a former all star meat bird) he outweighs Fabio by almost a pound and uses that to his advantage. And Dolly is the top pullet. So they are running the show right now.
I am taking the next 2 weeks off to finally begin construction on my long overdue mudroom addition. I've been living in a construction site far too long and really need to get this work done this year... before I have to go get my Mom's house ready to sell as my Dad died last December and she had to move into a senior living community apartment. Oh, and I have to take my DH to Wilkes-Barre one to two times a month for the next 2 years as he is participating in a clinical trial for a new Alzheimer's drug. So to say I'm strapped for time is an understatement!
Can you PM me so we can exchange emails and maybe get something worked out for the end of this month or early next month to move the Delawares to their new home?
Thank you both again so very much for helping me find them a good home and get them there. I really like my birds and didn't want someone taking just Dex to put him on the supper table.:rolleyes:

I have read only one Rooster to a flock . but found that 2 get along fine ..usually one will be more dominant as they mature . they might fight one time to establish whos the head of the flock or some never fight ..as they already established who is the boss when they are younger

I have 7 mature roosters who get along okay. Once in a while there is a minor scuffle, but nothing serious. They all free range together and watch over the flock as a group.

How large is your flock? I have 2 cockerels and 9 pullets with absolutely no room or desire to increase the flock size.

My two boys have been sparring since 3 weeks old. The bouts are getting more frequent. No one is getting hurt. Dex always comes out on top. I think that's just because he currently outweighs Fabio. I have seen Fabio routinely tuning up the girls so I think he may be better at maintaining flock peace and may ultimately take over when he catches up to Dex in the size department. They only spar when free-ranging.

I also have 2 neighbors in close proximity to our home. I've read that a second rooster will cause the dominant rooster to crow more to maintain his position so I'm also concerned about excessive noise. The neighbor next door loves the flock and don't care that they are visiting their property daily. They don't even care that the chickens have been raiding their veggie garden. We're very lucky there. I don't want to push my luck.

Between selling off most of the pullets this spring, the fox, and a few deaths from old age, I think I have about 10 mature hens left.
 
I want to throw this out there that I am done putting eggs in the incubator for the year so have silkie and serama eggs available for cheap. Cannot guarantee color or feathering texture on seramas as I have smooth, frizzle, and silkied all in one pen and all my silkies are in together. I am NPIP but don’t wanna ship eggs so if you wanna pick eggs up, I’ll sell for cheap or else they get fed to the pigs.
