We just moved to a new care taking position. There are 15 laying hens, 18 pullets, one young roo. Oh and 5 Angus heifers.

I'm planning a few ducks for my own keeping next spring.

I will have that many one day lol. Just gonna wait till next year to add more. Got to expand my run first which i plan on doing this fall. Already have a second coop that is empty right now and might use for something else since that one can only handle 6 chickens.

I always wanted ducks but my wife thinks they make too much noise. So i will just settle for watching them at the lake by my house

I have my large coop done and predator protected just need some cosmetics done. Like filling all the dirt that i removed when installing the barrier hardware cloth

For us, it's foxes and hawks. We cannot free range.

What's everyone biggest predator issue in NY? My main one is racoons and some hawks.

Coons I lost 4 to coons already. Caught them though and slow cooked them for my chickens lol

Hi im in northern NY. I have black,blue, and splash Ameraucana and a few silkies. I’m starting over with large fowl after a weasel or ermine took out my bantam flock in November.
