The chickens have been out free ranging the past 2 days and they're having a blast. They are going to be upset when the snow is back tomorrow morning when they wake up.

Rancher do you have any pics of your Dels?

Folks it would help to have a more exact location for you. Muggs where in Central NY are you? I'm in Central NY too , E. Syracuse. I was thinking if folks are making trips up and down or back and forth across the state there could be some connecting going on for transfer of chicks or eggs or adults. In the UK this is done all the time since they can't ship chickens through the post.

I just sold 7 to a guy in W. PA. I don't know his exact location in PA but it's the Northern part. Where ever he lives he has bears. OH MY!

Tab's chicken obsession :

None new but I'll try to get some. I don't have a very good camera.

Now I only ask for specific areas, so if I have to make a drive or vice versa I can decide whether I want to or not. As I stated I had a guy from PA buy chicks and personally have driven 5-6 hours to buy. I'm preparing to drive to PA myself for Orps. Not sure when but in the future. I'm not opposed to consolidate the transport either since I'm in the center of the state if it will save someone some gas.

I have also met folks half way to sell chicks if the price is right.

Take care

Please tell me you are going to Hinkjc's farm for Orpingtons???!!! I want a few more of their Lav Orps. I have eggs coming in this week, and am biting my nails waiting for another auction to end. They are in PA. I have a breeding pair of their gorgeous White Orps and the girl is a laying machine!

All right I will but I didn't want to buy eggs when I could get chicks. I have not heard back from Trylin as we have not decided who will make the drive. I am waiting for some advice from my friends on whether this would be a good idea. To offer to transport for other NYers. She and I have placed our order and I'm waiting for finalization from Jody.
Please understand.

1. All chicks must be picked here.

2. We can not transport past E. Syracuse.

3. All chicks ordered from hinkjc would have to be paid for in full to her.

4. We will not carry money to pay for others order or balance.

5. All chicks brought back would have to be picked up on the day of pick up.

6. We can/will not hold chicks for pick up.

7. All requests for transport must be made by e-mail to myself. (these will be printed out as proof of your request or cancelation)

8. All monetary transactions must be made directly with hinkjc, not us.

9. We will only pick up chicks for those who request it directly from us by e-mail. We will not pick up chicks ordered from hinkjc and requested of hinkjc to send them back with us.

10. Requests made privately of myself or Trylin is between you and us and does not liable the either of us to the other person. (no "well rancher said or trylin said" that's between you and me or her).

This is a 3.5 hour drive. Trish and I will discuss who will bear the loss of any chicks that are DOA.

11. hinkjc will not be liable to you for any chicks once they leave her farm to you or us.

Not that I anticipate any but I'm just trying to cover all my bases.

Whatta ya think?

First of all...WOW! I am stoked you are going to Jody! I just PM'd her yesterday.

Okay...first of all, when will you be going? Second...if I want 5 Lav Orp chicks, I need to clear it with her/pay for them, and THEN let you know, correct? What would be the pickup place? I can meet you off the thru-way, or Route 20, Route 5...all depending on where you are going. Unless of course you drive by my house, then I'll meet you at my doorstep!

Just kidding. This is great. We have been doing stuff like this for our other BYC friends...we all help each other.

From what rancher has told me it won't be until May/June...right, Tim? That being said-the pick up point could possibly vary...if people are willing to meet up on the route back into Syracuse, I wouldn't have a problem with that. I wouldn't mind going to grab them, but like I told Tim, would prefer to wait until we get closer before we finalize who is going. Life can be so unpredictable and mine is pretty insane lately! Otherwise the pickup pont would most likely be Tim's since he a minute from 481. I myself am excited-those orps are unbelievably gorgeous!

Hi guys , I have been off for awhile and am now thinking chickens again . I am looking for some Wheaten Marans and some Millies. I am near Watertown NY and can travel some .

I also have some purebred Saanen doelings without papers {due to being pen bred} cae and cl free. Also some Icelandic ewe lambs and exposed yearling lambs .
