I thought I saw some rocking, but have heard no peeping. The incubator is near our pellet stove, which doesn't run very quietly.

Hmmm. Are you Travis' wife? Am I meeting you in a little while?

I've got to get out the door with the Silver Ameraucanas!

Yep that's me. I got a pip!

Travis is bad at telling me things, he forgets or plays by ear. See you in a little.

what I do is tap on the window of the incubator, sometimes I'll get a "peep" back. and if I can't stand it, I'll take the egg out, & tap on it with something metal & if I get a peep back I know its pipped inside.

New 4H poultry club organizing in Oneida County area, but you don't have to live in Oneida County to join.;...

We are forming a poultry club, that will be based in the Oneida County area, and will correspond to the Oneida County Coop. Extesion, but anyone can join, as long as they don't already belong to a different county "poutry" club. So if you are in northern Madison cty, you could join us.

4H kids have to be 5 by January 1st of the current year, which runs October 2010 through September 2011, and not 19 before January1st of that year. So if you have a child that is 5 before 1/1/2011 but not 19 before 1/1/2011, they are eligible.

So far we have an excitiing group that is chomping at the bit, so to speak to do 4H poultry.

We will probably meet once a month, to be decided by the majority of people involved. Then, as the year progresses towards the summer, we might meet more often as things come up that the club wants to participate in or do.

We will cover breeding, incubation, hatching, rearing, showing poultry, plus attend clinics & shows that are appropriate to the members.

The 4H culmination of their efforts is showcased at the Boonville fair, where they may show their poultry and participate in Showmanship.

There are awards for public presentations, showmanship, and breeds at the end of year brunch provided by the 4H Extension in November.

There is just too much to explain here.

If you have family members interested in joining the club, and fall in the age group, please let me know via private email: [email protected]

Our first meeting is going to be in Waterville on Sunday, Jan. 23rd. I'm not sure of the time, but that may or may not be the place we always meet. I like to rotate meetings at members homes, to give everyone a chance to participate. But, that will be decided at the meeting on the 23, so if you are interested, please contact me so you can participate at that meeting.

So I got a nice pair of brwn. lghorn bantam rosecombs not easy to find. I've had them forsale but no takers. I'd still part with them if someone is interested. PM me if your interested.

Ive a new chick in the coop under the broody hen. We work so hard to hatch in the incu and then they just hatch them in the unheated coop. She gets' off the nest every morning to eat and they are there and she hatches just the same. You all know hw the weather has been.

so now I got 22 chicks to move and no takers. It will be a long time for I hatch chicks again. Just enough for me.

Oh talked about the auction today w/ a friend. None for awhile. He was losing money. Don't know what he will do.

Headed for bed take care

I would love to have the girls join, but they won't be old enough for a couple years yet.
And we finally have a couple new babies and more working on it with peeping.
What a relief!

Hows the driving? I've got chicks and I'll make you a deal for a $1 ea. I'll even let you have some Frizzles. These are EE/Del crosses that I expect to lay an olive egg since they are hatched from green eggs and the dad is a brown layer and of course pure Dels. I got more hatching in the coop. Good garden o' peas!

Will post pics later.
