You don' t need to hide under a chair. I've set 5 silky eggs and some BBs orps and rir's. Funny I'm into Dels and got no eggs. Though I did want Blue orps. so that's good. I will say that DW may just get into the silky thing and I don't want to discourage her. I did that once when I was breeding showing guinea pigs. I don't want to make that mistake twice.

Now I don't know the colors of these except the one porcelain and I know nothing of silkies except to say I have no idea how they see. Hers were so covered its a wonder they don't starve to death. Anyhow can't count your chicks before they hatch.

I do plan to go in April as you know and she has promised to introduce me to some judges. If I bring back some eggs I don't want to push my luck by expecting TSA to examine more than a doz or so eggs. FYI if you plan to carry eggs? Get to the airport with extra time and carry them in your carry on. Keep them with you so they don't get shaken up. Preferrably in something that will fit under your seat. I used a back pack.

Take care gotta plan my strategy

I have a dozen or so BBS silkie eggs in the bator now & another 21 or more are going in tomorrow. It would be cool if your wife got into silkies. They eat just fine...lol. But they can't see if a hawk or owl is coming after them. John built the 2nd silkie coop modular so I can add another color. Been doing the whites & BBS for 2 years so I'd like something a little more exotic & unusual. I guess I'm bored or maybe have spring fever.

I have Dominique eggs coming for a project -- yes, another project! So I may have some Dom chicks available in a few weeks too. I only need a few of them for my project & Noah may want to show them.

I have two dominique hens and they are the bossiest and loudest of my hens. They get in the coop early and squawk like crazy to the others to come to bed. They lay and egg and lord have mercy you'd think no one else had ever laid an egg. They squawk like there's no tomorrow as if to say "look what I just did". And there only medium sized eggs!

Then again maybe they're just squawking for Nick. Wouldn't surprise me the hussies.

Too funny! The wheaten Ameraucana girls do that too. Too bad you don't have a Dominique roo, all I really need at this point is a stud.

Funny that's what I think they dominiques are saying.

From a previous posting.

This is the second posting of someone going to TSC and leaving with chicks or ducks or what ever and it has to stop, I tell you!

There has to be some mental help for people like the ones on this forum! (myself included) Oh sure I passed on the chiiicks but I bought ducks so that's ok. NOT!

That's like saying I passed on the jelly donuts but I bought the glazed. It's the same addiction just different stuff.

I think this forum should have a mental health worker on here to assist those of us who may want/need help kicking this addiction.

Lord knows I have tried. I called my Doctor and I swear I heard him say, "take two chicks and call me in the morning". Really , he was no help at all.

So please. IF you go to TSC do not go alone, go with your sponsor. Who will ask you the pertinent questions. "ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND"?!!!! or "WHAT THE H*&^ ARE YOU THINKING?!!!!!!

Now if you'll excuse me I need to go to Tim Hortons and buy a dozen chicks, I mean donuts. (tim's is right next to TSC). lau Seriously I can hatch my own donuts and make the kind I want. I meant cook not hatch, really I did!

Hope all goes well for the OP and stay away from TSC everyone until the donut season is over. lau
