NY chicken lover!!!!

I will probably take some cockerels, black coppers, but no pullets. I'm short on pullets this year, haven't hatched out many yet. Also some Ameraucana cockrels, and 2 blue wheaten hens.

I seem to have hatched way more boys than girls so far this year too. Will be bringing a bunch of split lav cockerels I think. I have to go through the brooders. I probably have some extra ameraucana project cockerels too.

I haven't heard great things about Kings...but that is the closest one to me. I have several pet quality Silkies I need to unload. Are the auctions better than selling on CL?

Can everyone who is going to Bridgeport on Sat list what they are bringing to sell . Maybe we could do some sales and save the 30 % . add a price also .

Thanks , Patty

Sounds like folks just want to get rid of the extra roos and that is not surprising. The thing is folks will bid low and you'll at least get something for them. I've posted on CL and no one wants the roos, even for free. Then when you consider the gas to get there, your in the hole. Personally I don't expect to see anything I'd want there in the way of chickens.

Wonder if there is a corner to sit on with a sign that says free roosters, boxes and ready to go. If anyone is going and wants a free Delaware roo just swing by and pick him up. I've got four young ones. The rooster problem is why we have sex links. Not to mention the Legbar and Creambar breeds of the UK.

Not saying that's a bad thing mind you, this is just life.

Well, I think some people just want pretty birds for their backyard flocks. If they free range their bird, they probably go through a lot of roosters!

The silver blue salmon Marans I'm bringing, are beautiful birds for someone who just wants dark eggs & pretty birds. They will not go anywhere towards a breeding program, as I have found out there are too many different genes going on, so I'm selling them just as pets & egg poducers. The others are also just for back yard eggs & eye candy.

Spring prices are high, and then, they drop to almost nothing.
