I have seen pics of garden houses that were built from used storm doors. All glass and stuff. Country Garden Magazine?

Anyhow I was thinking that someone talented in hanging or whatever might pick ups some cheap exterior doors and use those for the walls of a coop. You could just pick them up cheap and save them until you had enough for a wall and use "9 light doors" to let the sun in.

I have one in my back room and now I'm glad I didn't get rid of it. I might try to use it in the new hoop coop on one end for a light source. Plus I need to replace my door to the coop I have now. Most doors are 80" high so they'd all be the same height. You could frame out each door to 80" high and whatever width they are and then paint each door a different color. If you can frame them so they open all the better. You could also stick in a screened door in the ones that open so you'd get ventilation in the summer.

I do have two screen doors inside my coop but have covered them with chicken wire so the birds don't tear them apart. The roosters tried to go at each other through the doors.

Anyone with an imagination can picture it in their minds? Time to check CL.

As for the doors, what we have are ultra cheap interior doors - from the 70's.. like 10-15 of them. This coop is kinda weather protected so we may try to use them for walls. Painted, I doubt they are much worse than OSB. Worth a shot and we have LOTS of them! Our house is slowly moving into the 90's!

Yes and you could do a scenic mural on each door if it's framed out or an entire scene across all the doors. That would look so cool.

And any kind of LF chicks would be awesome, just not banties. Might not be needed, but juuuuust in case nothing hatches I wanted to just try a few chicks under her in about 2.5 weeks. By that time TSC won't have any.

I thought she went un-broody today when I saw her out and about , but she ran out, drank like she was super parched, ate some grass, did her big broody poo, then ran back on the nest and started rearranging the eggs. So I guess she's still in the game.

I thought she went un-broody today when I saw her out and about , but she ran out, drank like she was super parched, ate some grass, did her big broody poo, then ran back on the nest and started rearranging the eggs. So I guess she's still in the game.

You are so lucky!....I haven't had one go broody and stay at it!..I have 2 silkies so there is hope! I am near Utica..I like olive layers in the egg basket and when I sell eggs the customers love them! very colorful! I am looking to get some eggs or chicks from Keenesville, ny I may have that spelled wrong..it is upstate...

Hmm. I could not find Keenesville on google, but there's a Keeseville. Is that where you mean? I'm almost two hours from there.

Maybe we can meet somewhere in between. I'll let you know more when I candle those eggs that girl is sitting on in a week or so.. assuming she's still there!
