My wonderful husband spent the morning with me having the chickens processed. We both ended up participating! Then he cleaned out the breeding pens!

We are Lucky Girls indeed!!!

Tim & Trish --- have you guys tried your homegrown meat yet? I'm putting the "smallest" on the grill tomorrow. It's over 5 pounds!

It depends. If you live where it is dry then twice a year. I live where it is wet so more often. Watch for signs of worms some types exhibit them differently. Watch the poop, eggs shells , open mouth breathing , head shaking, barking, each can be a sign of worms by itself. IF the condition is persistent.

Learn the signs.

I hope you never get worms or your chickens either.

Hi!

I just ran across this website this morning. We are getting our first set of chicks tomorrow! We are sooo excited. We have never done the chicken thing but really want to start. I am hoping as time goes on that we can make some money at it as we enjoy them as well. Does anyone have any advice of how to go about starting a successful chicken farm? Thank You! Oh and we are in Fort Edward, NY.
