Raccoons ate all of my DD Quail last night. They were housed in a rabbit hutch with 1/2 x 1" wire sides and bottom. She volunteered at church this morning so I will tell her when she gets home. We have tried to get them to stay alive. Just terrible luck. The first ones we got from a relative that had 7 all together in one pen. We did the same and a couple of weeks later the quail killed two of their house mates. So we separated the males and females. Then we hatched and when the new ones were the same size as the others we sold the mean ones. Now the ones she loved, Texas A & M's, are taken. Ugh. This sucks.

Just dropped off 30 birds off at Kings, 29 of them are roos. Now we have alot less mouths to feed. Now off to the Zoo for DD 3rd birthday party

They also charge a $1 to mail it. I got mine after 2 weeks last time.

I have no idea why they are doing this either. I live in a suburban area with little to no hunting. My theory is that they are overpopulated and need the extra food. Trap will be set tonight, unfortunately.

I am selling all of my Blue Laced Red Wyandottes to make room for my new Silver Laced Wyandottes.
