oh I miss spedie fest!!! I beeen up in a ballon.. I went up with Genesis ballons (dave berkta" the guy who went to low on the hwy and got wacked by a tractor trailer.. but i went up with him years before that happend

so wish I could go get me a speadie sub rite now LOL

Lovin the cooler weather and being able to sleep better. Birds and garden are perked back up. I think I may can a few quarts of pickles today.

Anyone local to Syracuse (or surrounding) know of a butcher who will process chickens/turkeys?


We have 5 roosters that need to be soup. We only want to keep one. I tried selling them but decided since we feed them organically we might as well eat them. I tried processing myself last year but what a mess with the feathers....

We have some people locally (south Seneca County), but that is a long drive from Syracuse for five roos.

There's nothing like homemade pickles! They're a family favorite.

I Tryed to make pickles once out of left over pickle juice. I got a pickle cucumber and cut it into chips then tossed it in the pickle juice and let it sit a few days.. I think they were a hit beacuse my Pickle loving Kids and hubby.. Gobbled it up! and asked when was i gonna do more lol​
