NY chicken lover!!!!

I had two wyandottes follow me out into the pen this morning. All the other girls crowded in the doorway, but would not set foot outside. Then the wyandottes said "Why the heck are we out here? She has no treats!" and hightailed it back in the coop. Not fun taking the coop cleanings up the hill in the wheelbaro this am either. Trees are pretty with their ice coating.

Stay safe everyone...so glad I had today off. Feeling bad for all my "gotta get to work before first light" friends this morning.

We have a few inches on the ground. Now there is some snow/rain/sleet coming down too. Driving the school bus was messy. Raods are a bit slick and people think they can still drive fast.

In our town we have a very low train trestle. There are a couple signs and flashing lights to let tractor trailer drivers know that they WILL NOT fit under it. I have seen quite a few trailers "scalped" by that trestle. This morning to add to the chaos of the snow and slick roads a trucker missed the numerous signs stating that trailers do not fit, got stuck in traffic trying to back up 1/4 mile to where the turn is for trucks. I am in a school bus. It is a blind area under the trestle and he wants me to go around his truck so he can back up. Uh, no. I will not jeopardize the kids in my care so he dosen't get busted the the police. Waving his arms and clearly upset because I wouldn't go into oncoming traffic so he could back up. I locked the bus doors and waited for the police. Really? I know he was upset and feel for him but I will not risk crossing the double yellow on a blind turn under a train bridge.

PHEW! Sorry about the rant.

Anyway, anyone going to The Big E this weekend?

I know the EXACT place you are talking about. IF you need confirmation/affirmation that you made the right choice...here it is. You made the right choice. That is NO PLACE for anything to pass anyone for ANY reason. It has to be one of the more dangerous places in the capital district cuz of the curve and low overhead and manholes/potholes and narrow road and and and....you know what I mean.

Can't do the Big E....wanted to, but have to stick around here and clean up a tree that we took down last weekend and then took a NAP instead of cleaning up and stacking the wood. Sigh. But it was a good nap. :)

I just gave my first silkie bath!....Well, almost, I just dunked the feet & tried to get all the gunk off....lots of poop balls I never saw innside all those foot feathers...I'm not bathing the bodies, I think its too cold. Going tomorrow to the NEPC, so they need to at least have clean feet! I am going to sprits & then blow dry for fluffiness though.

Me me Im going!

Yeah! I believe it will be just my DD and I driving out together. Great together time!

If you happen to see any Tragopan Pheasants, I need a female! I am planning on going Saturday. Not bringing anything, hoping to bring something home though!

I like that show, big, loads of birds and bird people. When I figure out what I am wearing I will post it so I can meet you!

Cass - Thank you! It really bugged me after I got out of there. Grrr... I know he was just wanted to go too but there is no way he can back that truck 1/4 to the turn without Police to stop traffic. Oh well.
