Just how windy is it out there? I think we got blown into Wisconsin overnight! Where did this come from??

Roads are horrible, people. Please be careful if you must go out!

It's bad out there? Hmm...Must be I am so used to weather changes that I missed this one. I did notice my ears were colder in the PM than the AM.
THREE eggs today and I thought they didn't love me.

Heh. I let all my chooks out as usual, but 'the dark' came early and my more brave far away 'back coop' chickens were stranded hanging out in the wrong coop -it has a nice awning and everyone hangs there in the daytime.... much drama ensued, including me crawling around under trees to grab cranky stranded chickens to put them in the right coop. My middle coop (where the stranded back coop chickens were) has all the drama queens in it, and strangers are NOT tolerated. Heck they barely tolerate each other.

I am tempted to rehome the entire bunch in the spring even though there are some cool breeds in there - my other two coops are nice and friendly each night.. I just walk in to check and they are all snuggled up.. but not this bunch!

Wow, it's been hard to see up here on the hill all day. The roads.....well, what roads???

Hope to be home to see the chooks by 8:00pm. We will have to see how many eggs tonight.

Work, then maybe sledding tomorrow. Yee haww

What a nasty day yesterday was! I am also a bus driver and I was sitting in my bus ready to leave in 3 minutes when they cancelled us. Others already had kids on. Glad we have an extended break, I can make sure they have fresh water(not frozen) all day. And now that old man winter has arrived. Burrrr! The girls (Danica (3 1/2) and Sage( 20 months))can go check for eggs. They really love that. Even though we are only getting one maybe 2 out of 26 pullets. They just started laying around the 6th of the January. I just can't understand why only one pushing two eggs are all i'm getting out of 26?
Rancher how is your hoop house holding up with the snow? Interested about one possibly.

Ok I'm here. I nearly left BYC cuz of all the changes but Lord have mercy that would have meant losing all my friend. Sorry I'm sentimental and have become fond of you all.

Spark - the hoop coop is covered with snow but they girls seem ok with the weather.

We do have snow of course and I've snowblowed a path. The first one is always the hardest. Gets easier as the ground freezes. The muddy areas are hard cuz the blower bogs down a bit. I'll try to post pics. There's a lot to learn.

I did join another forum after seeing all these changes but Cyn convinced me to give it a try after listening to me whine. You can teach an old dog new tricks it's just getting him to get up.

Well folk"s take care. My hands hurt from snowblowing across the lawn. You've got to hold it up a bit to keep it from scraping the ground. I try to get it up to leave just an inch of snow. I can get the wagon through that.
