NY chicken lover!!!!

I got one rumpless Aracauna, roo naturally, He is a beautiful, lavendar I guess you call it. He is a keeper. I had a lavendar girl, but she died...unknown causes, but no marks on her, so not a predator I suppose. I have a few Ameracaunas, 2 are roos. One I will keep, the other has a home, probably. I have another EE roo I think, that will be really pretty, mostly white,so he is also in the running to be a keeper. I will be up to about 50 hens when the NYD chicks get to POL, so I think I will stick with that for this year and just hatch quail for a while. At least until the April swap meet.

Rancher - thanks for providing the info on the wormer. Had to bring DD to choir practice today at SUNY Albany. She loves it. First concert in March. DH and I are going out back to cut trees, haul branches and brush to make room for the goat yard. Right now they are by the road and many people love to see them as they drive by I really want them out back by the rest of the animals.

"You might be a redneck if you have more outbuildings than house" Yup, definitely us.

Well in the winter(now) I put my chicken coop on my front lawn and remove a panel of lattice off my front porch. I put electric netting all around that. I AM A REDNECK! My chickens love it though! They come out all day, even when it snows heavily!!

Girl, you and I need to work in the same pharmacy. We'd get along like a house afire, since I am Pharmacist Amy (no kidding), fellow large gal who runs out in nightgowns to let the birds out. The only difference is, I don't care if I scar the neighbors for life! They're probably already scarred. They've seen me in the pool.

I just submitted the form to Betterbee that will hopefully reserve a nuc (nucleus) bee colony for spring. These are really nifty - it's basically a mini-hive with five frames already drawn out. It's a first-come, first-serve deal - fingers crossed that I got in on time! Reservations opened today, so I *should* be good.

Morning all! I too run out in my nightgown and a jacket to let everyone out in the mornings. I try to do it quick as I am a rather large woman, my nightgowns arent always below my knees and while the cheeps dont care what I look like, I dont want to scare the hell out my neighbors! I dont sing to the Lord (as Rancher does) but I am praying to Him that nobody sees anything that might scar them for life. LOL
