Is it because of the Erie Canal?

I've kayaked in the Erie canal around here. Shallow and FULL of mosquitoes. Very historic though.

Your wife, probably trying to figure out another way to pull the plug.

I couldnt resist. You gave a good laugh today.

So this is day 21 and still no pips. These silkie eggs are killing me. How many more days should I wait? The temp is holding at 100 and humidity is around 60 percent. I think they are still moving from side to side but its hard to tell cause I have looked at them so often.

I am going to be so

if they made it this far and then quit.

The tiny terrorists downstairs are a week old now and they are flapping and jumping like crazy. Might have to put a top on the brooder box sooner rather than later. I think the red sexlinks are growing the fastest and are intent on figuring out a jail break soon. I expect to find them all out and perched on dh's work bench and other stuff with a check it out we made it look on their little faces. Sigh. I expect this group is going to be real juvenile delinquents requiring a strict warden and reinforced jail cells.

Apparently dh was too slow in cutting up the grapes for the darling divas earlier because flo hopped up onto the picnic table where he was cutting them up and started helping herself. When he moved them off the top of the table into his hand, she hopped onto his leg. She is the only hen who will gladly hop into your lap or on the table to get to anything tasty that is available. She is the reason dh no longer eats in a chair outside, because he would be sharing his plate!!!

Okay--soooo if anyone has any advice on what to do about my eggs in my incubator, lay it on me. I figure to go to day 25 then call it quits and take the finacial loss. Thanks peeps!.

Amy, I have only done two hatches, but both hatches did not start until very late on day 21. Don't worry yet...............Hopefully you will wake up to a 'bator full of chicks!!! good luck!

How old is the bunny? They sell kitten bottles at Tractor supply as well as syringes. I have used both or the kids dropper that comes with medicine (they probably sell that at the grocery)

Whats wrong with the bunny?

he's maybe 4-6 month old? I got him at the auction on sat and he did not eat his food on Mon/Tue and he has diarrhea and he's skin and bones now.

he was NOT this way when I got him! he's in the house with me now to keep an eye on him. I got a different kind of feed and gave him that but he did not want to eat and drink his water, so I ground up some of the feed and put warm water in with the food and gave him some. he did fight me a little but he did get some food in him and I just looked in the box and he drank some of his water! here is what he looks like...........http://i1259.photobucket.com/albums/ii547/javachickgirl2/104_2655.jpg http://i1259.photobucket.com/albums/ii547/javachickgirl2/104_2656.jpg http://i1259.photobucket.com/albums/ii547/javachickgirl2/104_2658.jpg any idea what breed he is?? I got 3 others but they are fine, it is just him that is sick.

You can try to get some pedialyte down him, I use liquid immodium for poop butt if its winter and I don't have plantain outside (The weed, not the banana thing) Pepto will work too, whatever you have on hand really.

His lack of eating could be lots of things, stress, he doesn't like your food, Bloat, Cocci, bad teeth, sore hocks (and on and on...) I'd go over him, check his teeth and hocks. If he was harbouring Cocci stress (from being in a box, new place, new food) can really make them explode in population too. :( Auctions are not a fab place to buy rabbits, I see lots of less than healthy bunnies go thru, I always have folks come look for me at auctions bc I only bring healthy stock I can't use. Some rabbits just do not transition well to new homes or new feed. :(

What are you feeding them? I'd pull the pellets and give him hay if they'll eat it, directly dose him for Cocci since you don't want him to refuse to drink the water bc it tastes bad. (I'd treat the other three too if they've come from the same person or been exposed to him)

The problem with rabbits is after a day or two of not eating they go into GI Stasis where they don't want to eat, if you can get him hydrated and eating again he should pull thru...

They look like mixed breed, possibly some Rex in there? How much do they weigh? The picture makes him look smallish...

There will be lots of birds for sale, I always bring Marans, probably some Coronation Sussex, Whtie Orpingtons & Blue laced red Wyandottes, possible some Silver Laced Wyandottes....not sure if I'll have any Silkie chicks for sale b y then.

Rancher, Auburn is not far from Syracuse!

No I have to agree , but I really have nothing but extra roosters. I'm at the point to just give them away.
