I have to go to work today. I have begun to hate work. Not what I do, just the company I work for. I need a good rant. No time for that, I have to go feed my animals. Every body have a great day!!

I had no clue cherry trees where poisonous to chickens. What is poisonous on them???Henicillin: Good luck with your broody. My favorite way of having chicks. So much less work....
Rancher: Like you, I have close neighbors. So letting them free range is out of the question. They would either be smoosh on our busy road or would be cleaning up at the neighbors and they would be not happy about chicken poo in their yard. No appreciation for good fertilizer, huh?![]()
This is the next best thing. I wanted electric netting, but couldn't come up with the $500.00 it would cost for 200 ft of fencing plus solar charger. Of course it means I can only let them out into the temporary fencing when I am home. That cuts down on the amount of yardwork they can do. We call it "holding up progress" around here.
All of you have such good pics of chickies. They are so cute.
Ordered cherry trees and forgot they are poisonous to livestock. Now I have to find a place to plant them that chickens/horses will not be. *Sigh* Here's my sign.....

Morning everyone!
We took the chicks outside yesterday for most of the afternoon. They had a blast out there. So did my kids-watching them! It's so funny how they immediately start pecking around for food. The bigger two caught some bugs and the kids were so hysterical when one would catch something and go running with it like "where can I go eat this now so the other two cant get any". It was such a riot to watch. So cute! I can't wait to start keeping these chicks outside and have our own little "farm" LOL

The bark is poisonous. I believe it contains arsenic, but not sure. They would have to eat a large amount of it to have an effect because of the low amounts in the bark.
ohhh, so it is like apple seeds. Only poisonous in huge quantities
