I havent been on BYC in a couple of months I just found about "the party" ARGHHHHH! We have friends coming from out of state tonight for the weekend! I would love to have gone, they are only 45 minutes away from me, usually these parties are on a Saturday and I work every Saturday. Oh well, but if you think of it, and you meet anyone with standard Cochins feel free to mention I'm looking!

We've mentioned the cochins,but not sure if she had any available or if we caught her in time since she was coming in from New Hampshire.
I used to work saturdays and I always missed everything so I planned the event on Sunday. Sorry you can't make it.

I had to work Saturday this year, so I was really glad it was on a Sunday. Last year it was so close to me that working Sat morning didn't affect my ability to come join in the fun. And it was fun.

I haven't heard from Annie in AGES. The very last time I talked to her (meaning went to her house to get free chicks) she didn't think she was going to be able to come, citing the distance as an issue. (Personally I don't think 2 hours is that bad, but I am not traveling with kids or birds, so what do I know?)

Sheesh! I go away for 3 days and have 68 posts to catch up on!
Went camping, but had to stay 15 minutes away so we could come home morning and night for the chickens, the goats, the dog, the indoor birds, the tortoise.......
Came home this morning to another HUGE raccoon in the trap!

Our employee came by at 4:30 am the other morning to pick up equipment and saw a family of coyotes in our yard. We figure it was a mama and babies. THIS MEANS WAR!!!

Those with allergies, I also swear by the sinus rinse BOTTLE (not the neti-pot). Being on well water, I only use bottled water. I also work as an aide in a primary school and I'm always getting sneezed on, coughed on, etc. I use a bottle of saline nose spray, and every time I go to the bathroom I do a quick squirt in each side and blow my nose. It really does help get rid of the nasties. I do this on top of the sinus rinse bottle.

Ok,, here's my last list of birds I'm bringing tomorrow to Tabs...

Some blue Silkies, unsexed.
1 silver laced Wyandotte, 2 years old
Several splash Marans, unsexed
1 White Orpington-I think is a pullet,not sure
Possibly more Marans, depending on how ambitions I am in the morning! LOL

All $10 each....
I have some blue copper Marans cockerels...I will bring if someone wants one. $5.00. Have to email me to bring.

I can only stay until 1pm, so they must be taken by then, or I will bring them home. Just saying....I don't want to leave any cause I can't pick up until Wednesday so Tab won't have to bother with them.

Fruit dip mixed, zucchini chocolate chip bread baked, potato salad done and in fridge (add more mayo in morning). Half of hawaiin punch frozen, rest of punch and soda in fridge. Ketchup, mustard, brown mustard, zucchini relish sitting on counter ready to go. Stop to get a bag of ice on the way through town in the morning, stop at the farm to pick up a couple chairs and a cooler for the punch (noticed ours has a crack in the liner). Borrowed mom's car tv/dvd player for the 1.5 hour trip with little girl. Hubby went to college in Morrisville and Utica, so we are familiar with the roads for most of the drive. We will probably leave around 4:30 to get home for dinner and bath time.
Just talked with the Amish neighbor, Owen. The one EE rooster was tasty so we offered up the other two. Of course he can't take them till Monday. So if I bring home any pullets, they will have to be in the dog cage till the roos are evicted and Eglu cleaned.

Wish I could go but Sunday and the distance not working for me =( Also, DH got out of the hospital this week and can't walk much yet so I woulda had to come solo.. but I'll be watching and there in spirit!

I have boxes in the car for 3 copper marans, and two silkies from jersey girl (for ginger).

Salad is made, cupcakes are frosted, next book on tape in the car. Also bought 2 Yankee candles for chinese auction!
