Hello Everyone,
Looks like everyone is getting ready for the big meetup tomorrow. Wish I could join but we just got back from Disney and I am wiped out! Good news though......My wait for my first egg is over!!! I came home late Thursday night, when I woke up Friday morning, my SIL was much earlier and had already let the chickens out. When I woke up I asked her how everything went this week, how the chickens were - did they go into the coop easy for her at night etc etc. (She just got back from S. Africa and is familiar with chickens) I had also asked her if she had checked the nest boxes at all for eggs because they should be laying any day now. She said No, but the "golden" one and one of the gray ones had been squatting in the yard alot and just sitting there. Like they were going to lay them in the yard. So now I am like Geez, have they been laying someplace else other than the nest boxes?!? Today I finally saw two of the hens doing what she explained. And my son's hen "Golden Star" the BO x Black Sex Link mix had been back and forth to the coop all day. So I finally decided to get some easter eggs and throw them in the boxes. My SIL and I went to the mall, came back, I checked the box and this is what I discovered....

I was soooo excited! I can't wait for more! It's wasn't a huge egg but not too small either. I'm hoping to get at least 5 by next weekend so we can cook them up for breakfast!
